So, we set up the pool last week and have been shooting in it non stop....
tomorrow is our last day of shooting and then i have to figure out how the hell to get this pool out of my garage and clean up!! im sad to see it go.
we have had some awesome experiences and tomorrow we are gonna break the mold with some more vids.

this mud was in a garage for over a week and then brought down in a trunk, put in this pool in my freezing garage and she got in...
she didn't scream like i do when i get cold....oh no no no no.....it was SO FUCKING SEXY. OMG. i hate to be "that guy" loving hearing a girl who is obviously probably at the point of hypothermia....sounding like she is getting proper fucked...but i was totally that guy. totally....lol XD good lord she was sexy af! today i get to do MY sexy scene where i pick out my outfit and do what i feel and i am so excited! wrastling has been AWESOME but my fucking body hurts!! lol XD

i thought i was SO SMART and came up with this BRILLIANT idea bc i had seen my dad do it with water....and i knew with this kind of slip that there can be some more thin spots of mud if you just seek em out....
so, i get the heating element from a coffee maker which will boil a damn 5 gallon bucket of water in minutes....i get a mix of water and mud that seemed reasonably thin....and i stick the heating element in...it starts to separate the mud from the water, boils the top where the water is, and starts to clump up mud on the bottom (honestly not enough to make a significant difference but it wasnt doing what i thought...if i would have just thought of basic fucking chemistry.
so....there went my great fucking idea.
but, i still have the heating elements from an iron and a coffee maker for any other substances we shoot in we want warmed up (aka syrup, molasses, nuru gel, shit like that but gosh damnit, we really needed phil here for this one. lol)

today is the last day of filming and then ariel is gonna ATTEMPT to help me get rid of it.
its a total of 55 gallons of this shit. and yes, it does stain. and yes, i live in the burbs with my roomate. and yes, people are nosy as fuck. and yes, the temp dropped 20 degrees today outside. #yolo OBVIOUSLY i would never say that. do not judge me i was being sarcastic.
excuse my constant lack of punctuation but regis, if you ever wanna come down and heat up some fucking indoor mud, i swear, one of us will probably suck yo dick. it is SO COLD.
are we allowed to cry whilst doing so?? im sure you would prefer it im kidding.

All of these take some time, and I dunno what your fixtures look like, but for heating a large quantity of mud, you could try hooking a garden hose up to one of your faucets. Sink the middle length of the hose in the mud, fill with hot water, and circulate both the water and the mud every so often to keep the heat to it. The business end of the hose empties back into the sink/tub/etc. and that's where you check to see how the temp of the hose water has been disappating. Might even want to keep a cheap foil emergency blanket over it to keep the heat from escaping as you do it, too.

Alternately, you could add about half the regular amount of water to your pit, and as you get close to film time, add a few hot kettles of water to the mix. Be very sure you mix thouroughly, though, as you can get some very hot pockets of mud if you're not careful. You could also try warming the underside with an electric blanket, but I'd be leery of mixing mud/water with anything electrical.

i did heat up mud in the microwave. big bowls of it and would heat each bowl up to 10 minutes and it did not separate, it heated evenly, of course....bc its a microwave.
but even heating up those bowls to boiling temps and putting 6 or 7 in a 55 gallon pool of mud, just doesnt cut the mustard.
especially when we have had 35-40 degree nights and you are shooting in your garage. lol.
today it was extra creamy and it seems like the creamier and thicker, the easier it is to handle.

today, it looked like his mud...it was fantastic. i love watching how it changes over days....and then today, ariel and myself got rid of all that mud. together. two girls....and let me tell you. i sincerely want to die now. i probably wont be able to move for a few days. and i still have some stuff to take to the dump! WORTH IT!!

Jayce, would a heater like they make for swimming pools work to heat something like this? I'm not sure if it would work well with something thicker than water or not, but I swear somebody on here has said that they've used that before for mud. It might be worth looking into for future shoots like this.

Although, maybe I shouldn't offer helpful advice, because based on what you described with Dixie's video, I'm looking forward to seeing the reactions to the cold

From what I've watched so far. This has to of been one wild weekend that never wanted to end. And a big thank you to Jayce and the girls from us sponsors !

A lot of campers and groups like the scouts use what simply amounts to a copper coil with water lines running in and out to a metal water container. Normally, they will put the coil into the campfire and the heat will start to vacuum the water from the pot. It vaporizes to steam, or course, but after a while, it will come out the other pipe back to the vessel and make a continuous water heater in the wild. Just add water to the pot when it gets low, and it will be recirculated back through the system. You should be able to reverse the effect - a coil or pot on the stove, recirculating water back through an inexpensive PVC pipe system coil laid out under the pool, or even in it if you like. If you ever do this setup again, let me know and I'll put it together for something maybe a video in return.

Jayce, you sound so excited! Like you're ready to do some cheerleading.

Granted, it's a bit late for this shoot but the next time you do an indoor mud shoot, if your water heater is in the garage and it has a hose attachment at the bottom, you could try hooking up a garden hose that goes from there and snakes around back and forth under the mud at the bottom or maybe build a pipe grid under it with a water inlet from the water heater tank and an outlet that either runs outside or back to a sink/tub indoors if you don't want the neighbors asking about a water leak? If you don't want to go to all that trouble, hit eBay and see if you could buy a couple of old waterbed heaters to lay under the pool. Just remember to run them through a power strip and extension cord to a bathroom plug with a GFI (ground fault interrupter) plug (the kind with the little press in circuit breaker on the plug face) to keep it safe. Lots of different ways to set it up; biggest thing is to get the heat to transfer to the mud as it circulates through without washing out the mud itself AND without creating a safety hazard. Also, if possible, try figuring out some sort of platform (wood 2x4s with a plywood top perhaps?) to set the mud pool up on to get it off the concrete floor, which otherwise is going to act like a great big heat sink and suck ALL the heat out of the pool overnight)
