Was looking on twitter and our lovely Aussie folks are also into really over-the-top dramaticized phoniness, but in the last episode several of the ladies pied each other in the face on what seemed to be a little quiz show. I don't know if there'd be video due to copyright issues, but there are some snippets on twitter @thebachelorAU and NO I don't support this show btw. It's all about the hot ladies pieing each other, not the name drop. G'day.
Thanks!!! Boy I'm sure if any of us were the Bachelor, we'd totally require the winner to take a pie to the face. How the bloke turned down the girl who asked him to pie her is shamefeul.

It's like someone took two of my favorite things and put Them together.
Amazing.
I completely agree. I think this is an outstanding mainstream scene. Sure - it could've been even better, but between how hot the women were and the animus we know exists between contestants on shows like this, it was really great.
This is fantastic, one of the best mainstream clips in years.
Gorgeous girls pieing each other forcefully in a slightly bitchy way. It's basically a real-life version of what pie producers have been trying to recreate for years.

Definitely the best recent mainstream pie scene that I can think of. It's not like some of those other mainstream "pie" scenes where they have to put their face in some flimsy contraption to fling plates filled with the tiniest amount of whipped cream at them. You've got beautiful women with generously filled whipped cream pies (seriously, rewatch the video, those tins are full of cream right up to the top and then some) pieing each other willingly with actual force. Also I noticed that none of them really struggle or resist the pieing meaning it doesn't end up getting ruined. They just take the pieing, sometimes even having their hands behind their back!

Yep, and no offence to the producers, but this scene is way better than probably any professional scene because of the actual motivation the women have while doing the pieings. Very natural and realistic.

You can tell it's not a producer scene because we've had 10 posts and not a single one complained that most of the pies were shaving cream.
Nothing wrong with shaving cream pies. I have used them a lot, they make a mess on a nice outfit, smell nice and are easy to clean up.
All my slapstick pie fights with my (so far) two WAM stooges apart from once have been shaving foam pies. The one time we used food it was a pig to clean the flat up afterwards and it smelt rancid. With foam, a few minutes with a couple of towels and we were sorted. I also think it actually cleaned the floor and carpet a bit too!

I was wondering about that. Some of the pies looked like whipped cream, some looked like shaving cream. Wonder why that is?

Probably just made them with whatever was available. I guarantee it was some guy in the prop department who doesn't care about the "best" pie for the job. They're either whipped cream or shaving cream in empty tins, no crusts or fillings.
The women did great work with the hits, though, so it didn't really matter. Only disappointment was the last girl as that SC pie fell short. (Also the quick-cut editing, but that's a staple of most mainstream shows.) But I love that The Bachelor is too cheap to buy real bakery pies.
I'm guessing the budget didn't have anything to do with the lack of real pies - probably more of a logistical decision. Clean up, storage of the pies and actually buying them all went into the decision mix.
And could there be an embarrassment factor? Getting hit with a shaving cream by is arguably less embarrassing than getting hit with a gooey chocolate cream pie and likely it could have been an issue with some of the girls.
I also think it's unfair to compare anything real to anything produced. I have some great pie scenes from producers here where the girls do a great job of acting pissed at each other.
I'm not going to compare that to girls on a show who are in a competition, some of who have a real dislike for each other, hitting each other with pies. That's always going to be superior. It doesn't lessen the scenes the producers here make.
