I have to say I am very saddened and disappointed by the sexism this has bought out in people I find it quite shocking, even all the jokes about parking the Tardis are in my opinion an unacceptable form of casual sexism, I really thought and hoped as a society we had moved on from this. Personaly I think its great and about time and as one journalist put it. "in the entire history of Dr Who not once has he had to use his penis to solve an issue"
Wouldnt mind love but will take anything I can get

I like the casting, can't wait to see her in character. While it's hard to tell at the moment, from the brief bit we've seen she does have a Matt Smith sort of look. I hope she brings the energy too.

Though to be fair there's got to be a dumb-as-toast think-piece out there somewhere which argues the sonic screwdriver is a phallus.
Hey why not ? My Niece actually liked the Scottish Doctor, but none of the others. Last while though I haven't bothered with Doctor who, other priorities and just found it over the top soap opera drama. I am a solid Star Trek fan. ST is more practical and down to earth approach to sci-fi. There are some interesting concepts in the stories of Doctor Who through the excess drama so will give this new one a go. In my youth I watched Babylon 5 and LEXX as well.
Rick and Morty can't wait for new season soon. Better Call Saul just wrapped up. Mostly I watch non fiction stuff on health, science and spiritual healing and altered states of consciousness. Truth is stranger than fiction. And for fun I will watch a water jug blown up from a .300 Winchester Magnum 180Gr. BTHP @ 3150 fps..
On the whole sexism thing, I'm all for women's rights but it has gone way to left. Just like the white privilege thing. I called a co worker out on that. The government didn't want to help me get to school nor did the bank so I am working my way there. I told the government program, don't you want me to earn more so I can pay more taxes? Where is my apparent white privilege? So you are saying you don't want to work or learn anything, but because you shoot good hoops you deserve $100k a year ? Blunt, but lets think and look here a bit.
My friend is a plumber 3rd year journeyman. An apprentice at the company is 4th year and she can't even connect a faucet properly. Leaked and she was going to take the supply lines off without shutting off the water. She is also too weak to carry gravel or dig so what use are you as a plumber ? Plumbing a faucet is 1st or 2nd year skills. I am not a plumber and I can do that and she makes twice as much money as I do. I am NOT saying all women are bad at those jobs, some women are excellent mechanics. We could say she is getting sexism favoritism where any guy would be fired by now or told smarten the fuck up. The other young women apprentice gets drunk and stoned every night so she is useless too. Maybe these are worst examples, but look at what extreme feminist say and do. A fact of biology is women have 30% less muscle than men and different ratios of fast and slow twitch fibers.
The Big Bang theory is all WRONG Dare you to take a hour and examine the data. If you understand the Doppler effect you will see what this implies. The growth of the universe actually has to do with photons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EckBfKPAGNM&t=648s
