It's occurred to me recently that a lot of my movies contain a mix of sweet, savoury and gunge, but this combination may not be to everyone's taste. My preference is mostly for sweet items, but I tend to add in savoury to mix it up and add to the mess.
I know there are unlimited sub-genres in this crazy fetish of ours, but I'd love to know whether folk generally prefer to see purely sweet or all savoury mess. Are you put off a scene that has custard, pies and then a can of beans? Does a bucket of pudding leave you cold? I'm expecting a wide range of answers, but I'd love to hear all of your particular preferences and also see what the general opinion is.
I tend to prefer savoury only, but I don't mind sweet only or just gunge. I'm not really a fan of mixing sweet and savoury, even though this happens a lot in WAM films!
Although I prefer sweet as a rule, you always look perfect under anything. Keep doing exactly what you do now, and you can't go wrong. You've perfected your own recipe.
I prefer to keep my messes separate, though in the right situation, mixing everything into the scene just BEGS to happen. I prefer to play in sweets, but watching savory just has that look to it... Like that time I gave Leila the mustard facial.
If not covered in frosting, are you really living?
I love both sweet and savoury. I usually use them both together but 95% of the films I make are customs so it's not my choice. If it was up to me, I like to keep them separate. All sweet or all savoury. You wouldn't eat a roast dinner with chocolate sauce over it.... Well, most wouldn't!!
I've voted for mixed. Sweet tends to mean 'sticky' to me, whilst savoury means 'smelly' and 'lumpy'. I like adding stuff like margarine and flour too. Which side do they fall on?
