I'm excited in 50 different ways... from how cool the X-Wings are to the bad ass lightsaber.
Just not convinced we need more Tatooine... for such a nothing world in an entire galaxy, it's kinda weird to keep ending up there. But hey, I'm feeling this one - so much love for the original material from everyone involved having seen the mistakes made... my feeling is it's in safe hands.
Looks like they are going with the death of the Emperor and Vader didn't end the empire, which makes sense. It would have created a vacuum at the top that would cause it to break up... or someone sucked in to fit it.
In the expanded universe they all took to Luke restarting the Jedi order which just frankly... sucks and doesn't make sense. Luke knows it was arrogance that brought them down, and he is not anywhere experienced or mentored enough to start teaching people the way - that's how Kenobi screwed it all up with Anakin.
Everything they are doing now is on target... The Clone Wars was a great start, Rebels is fantastic and the new books that are canon are fantastic. I read "Kenobi", and "Tarkin" was even better - the tone and the relationship between train and Vader is perfect. Just now around a third into the latest one.
