Hi all. After having a conversation last night with someone on chat last night I was made aware that there is no longer a splunch meet in Birmingham.
I was wondering if there was plan for there to be one in the future. I only ask because I would interested in attending one. if anyone is planning one would they let me know as I would be interested to meet other like minded people.
The Birmingham Splunch was one of the best attended Splunch's in memory. Not quite sure why it didn't carry on going other than somebody to organise. Nasty Gunge did a fantastic job of organising them before, maybe its one to try and organise again.
We'd be happy to organise one in Birmingham or maybe we could do a Reading one. The key would be to work around the other meets so there is a gap between meets as I know a lot of the regulars like to attend all of them if they can.
Well that would be 6 of us then, I'm happy to put something together for the New Year. The usual format of a Saturday afternoon followed by a meal in the evening has worked well in the past so guessing that would be good. How does a February Splunch sound so as not to give some time before the Bristol Splunch.
Sounds good, lets go for the 28th February unless anybody has any other suggestions. I will go up and check on the pub situation but guess that Weatherspoon Pub we were at before would be an ideal venue with cheap beer and food.
I would definitely attend another Birmingham splunch, the previous ones were great fun and well-attended. The weatherspoons pub we went to before was a good choice, easy to get to from the station, prices were OK and the place was big enough to accommodate a large-ish group of us on a Saturday afternoon.
It would be nice to have a winter splunch to go to, with London giving it a miss this year and it being too cold (for me) to do any actual sploshing.

I think the Weathspoons will be fine. That Chinese we went to on the first Splunch might be good for the meal after as well.
I seem to be otherwise engaged for every splunch ever, but if I'm free I'd definitely go to a Birmingham splunch. It's really close to be so it would be rude not to.

I think without doubt the first Birmingham Splunch was the best any of us had attended. There was so many there and so many buying our gunge that I struggled to carry the huge bag of Gunge everybody had ordered taking advantage of our splunch special price !
The date is the 28th February 2015 for an afternoon Splunch at the Weatherspoon Pub followed by an meal in the evening, possibly at the Chinese we went to last time. I'll start a new thread with the full details with some local hotels etc over the next few days. Just need to spend some time looking at which hotels are close etc.
