I have taken the desision to move to south east Wales around the Chepstow area.
Just seeing who is around the area.
Also looking to find a few mud sites around the Severn. I have been in the mud on the other side of the bridge but need to find some sites over this side. I have had a walk around the coastal path but no real good areas.
There's some good areas dotted about. The mouth area of the Usk on either side is pretty quiet, though the mud is expansive, it is very soft and takes a slog to get to the river. There are paths along each side. There are some small lakes to wash off on the east bank. Only really dog walkers along these stretches. Also there is the Wye around Lancaut and Piercefield forest, big mudbanks and a big mud lagoon on the edge of the river curve at piercefield, but this is more an after dark area only as it is visible from the hillsides surrounding. There is also a big mud area near a marina on the Severn between the two bridges, but I've not had a chance to get there yet, mud looks good though. I found a nice area last week on the English side which is pretty quiet, the banks of the Congresbury Yeo river. Similar mud to the Avon but nobody around, very good for deep immersion in daylight without the risk of getting caught.
