This will be a long post. There are several messy events in the Russian series of reality shows collectively titled as "Dom-2". Going from "worst" to best:
1) "Dom-2 Gorod lyubvi" (a cross between Big Brother and Love Island), Day 5427 (20th March 2019): Tatyana Strokova gets doused with kefir (thickened milk).
2) "Dom-2 Ostrov lyubvi" (essentially a Russian version of Love Island), Episode 747 (5th September 2018): Margarita Ovsyannikova and Irina Pinchuk gets seated under two buckets of white gunge (kefir, yogurt), and after some discussion both women get gunged. After these two, Anastasiya Yendaltseva and Daniil Sakhnov come next, but this time the gunge misses them for the most part.
3) "Dom-2 Gorod lyubvi" (which is the main episode) and "Dom-2 Posle zakata" (an associated full lengt aftershow), Day 4433 (29th June 2016): Multiple people get messed or challenged in various ways during a karaoke game.
Those that get messed are, in this order: Ella Sukhanova (green spray paint), Yevgeniya Feofilaktova (batter), Aleksandra Gozias (cream); Anastasiya Volynets (batter), Ivan Barzikov (cream), Igor Tregubenko (shaving cream), Elena Serebrich (cream), Andrey Cherkasov (batter), Ruslana Mishina (flour).
There are several women matches, which are then settled in arms wrestling after the fight, and 2, I think, male matches with only one being shown in detail. All the female matches except the last one are very weak. The last match, fought between Elena Khromina (grey top) and Margo Ovsyannikova (red bikini) is a little bit better. From all the women, Elena Khromina ends up messed the most (as shown on the 3rd pic below). The best in terms of coverage is the 2nd male match between Andrey Denisov and Aleksey Kudryashov.
Note: Margarita "Margo" Ovsyannikova is the same girl that was gunged in Ep747 above.
Here is a funny pic of Anastasiya Volynets (left) and Yevgeniya Feofilaktova (right) sitting in the audience after their performances, still covered in batter and watching the other housemates getting trashed.
(From the aftershow, "Dom-2 Posle zakata", Day 4433 above, 22:32 min. in the episode.)

That's a good point and have flagged it to MM for his view.
Might change my mind later, but at this time I'm not taking any actions against anything Russian. Really hard for me to be part of this war, especially if my role is to attack the Russian people and their livelihood so that the pain would trickle down to the oligarchs and Putin. (I know it's the best way forward and that nobody gets joy from that fact.) We're already unable to pay any Russian producers, so I'll just let the official government sanctions suffice for now, but I won't be restricting anything Russian right now. I'll keep an open mind tho.

Peace, Messmaster
I agree it's the safest approach to the Russian situation. however, The argument that I would have on banning Russian content is that even if this doesnt affect Putin or his oligarchs friends, it may make people from Russia wonder what is going on right now and question more the actions of their government. Putin cannot be removed unless his population steps up in front of him and dont want to be part of it anymore. People are dying because of his actions, I think this would be fair measure.
Hopefully this post doesnt become too messy.. oh wait..

The scenes are from 2016-2018, well before 2022. They aren't related to Russian government, military or politics in any meaningful form I can see. Mentioning them here doesn't help Russian leadership in any way, and so by censoring them or pretending they don't exist in the fist place we would only be shooting ourselves in the foot for nothing.
Maybe but the fact is that Russia have invaded Ukraine and committed atrocities on the local population. I don't consider that now is a good time to be promoting anything Russia related.

That, to me, is very extreme position - a witch hunt of sorts, where any Russian is a witch and all, even retrospectively, related to Russia is cursed, regardless of anything. Aren't we in the West supposed to be better than, let's say, Russian Roskomnadzor. Chinese stuff is considered OK here despite all what's going on in Xinjiang.
Loving the responses on both sides of the sanctions argument, here and privately. I guess there can be no perfect solutions but I'm glad that we are talking about it.

Let's bring this home, it would be the same as banning anything here on UMD made in the US with the explanation being in response for all of the brown people we have bombed, overthrown, assassinated, etc. over the last 69 years since we helped overthrow Iran's government.
I agree with this discussion though, and that it's valid. But let's be real, if Russia is bad, the US, UK, Germany, Japan, China, we're all HORRIBLE. Right now there are a lot of Russian citizens protesting, leaving the country, and just last night someone got onto the since taken over state news outlets with a sign in the background protesting the war.
My point is we can't point the finger at them as a people for the actions of their government without looking at ourselves the same way.
When I was a kid, I was proud to be an American. Then I grew up and found out what we were about...not so much anymore. Now I'm just working on being proud to be a human. We're not there yet either though.
