I've always felt that hard objects and solid substances aren't really wet or messy. Take feathers for example, when used in a 'tar and feather' scenario. The same could be said for dry cakes, sprinkles, glitter, and a host of other 'solids'.
Now, there are some substances that can change texture, such as if pouring cereal into a bath of milk, the cereal will become wet and soggy.
When I see a lovely lady covered in liquid cake batter, topped with whipped cream, but then someone is adding sprinkles, it kills it for me. I guess I imagine myself sliding through those smooth textures. I certainly don't want the feeling of sandpaper to ruin it all.
Milk and cereal go together, but I'm only interested if the cereal is soggy, not crunchy or hard.
So, is this just me, or does anyone else not care for the solids? Think human sundae, and someone throws chopped almonds on top. To me, that just kills it right there.
I have used sprinkles before but they are super sticky and lose there color when wet so it creates a really messy scenario where they stick to everything really well and run color.
I completely agree! Nothing kills a scene for me like including something dry. One you left off that really grinds my gears is dry flour. It's WAM, not DAM, damn it!

Totally agree with this. Flourings do nothing for me.
I love to see when they get doused with flour at the end of a scene, because I feel it adds to the humiliation / visual appeal of the whole thing.
I think it's interesting you said "I imagine myself sliding through those smooth textures." because I guess that means you are someone who likes the idea of being pied and slimed yourself? I'm someone who would find getting pied or slimed totally mortifying / humiliating, but I like to see it happen to the model for some weird reason, but I'm certainly not imagining what it would feel like myself.
I kind of feel this way about all of them, they are generally all too dry for me. It's a main reason that pie does nothing for me, all that...crust. Also shaving foam. It's not really wet, and it's "soap" so it's not really messy either, it's just...really, really small bubbles
[Full disclosure: I did a few flour gags about 10 years ago, then stopped, but a couple I did came out REALLY well, like this one. It actually made the shoots even messier.... Toshia only took these 4 pies in this quick bit, but said afterward that it felt like she was wearing an entire face mask. Water + flour + pies = Glue! ]
I've used flour, sprinkles and just last week powered sugar. I am a humiliation guy and I think those are great toppers or enders, kinda like "Great what else can make this worse.: Plus things like flour and powered sugar get gummy and gooey so an even bigger mess.
I'm another fan of flourings. Humiliating when used as a 'topper' or 'ender', yes - and also great as part of an extended messing where you're using the 'messee' as the mixing container! There's little to beat repeated flourings and soakings (whether filling up clothing or dousing from head-to-toe) for turning someone into a messy delight. I'm a particular fan of working dry flour into someone's hair (victim or my own) as part of a messy salon treatment...
Having someone alternately dunk their head into a bucket of dry flour and a bucket of water? That works too
Dry flour also works well with any number of other substances: syrup, treacle, yoghurt, margarine, eggs.
Ok, I'm seeing a new thread here in this thread - the idea that flour or egg shells or whatever, becomes an added level of humiliation, or an added level of just being a total mess.
I think there are those who like to look at wam, they get excited by the visual of humiliation, perhaps starting with a pie in the face, but including tar and feathers, sprinkles, flour, eggs, etc. The humiliation aspect may include the ruining of expensive outfits as well.
Then there are those who look at wam but are excited by the idea of how it must feel, not being into the humiliation aspect, but the sensation of slippery, slimy, gooey, etc. and clothing sticking to the body.
Either choice may be imagined simply by looking at such images, or experienced first hand, alone or with a partner.
A few may cross over and enjoy both types. I think we're back to the humiliation or no-humiliation choices.
To me, egg shells in the hair or on the body would be like chunks of glass in my soup. No thanks. But I can see it as an added level of something humiliating for those who like that.
Once more, this thread shows that we are all very unique and among the wam fetish, there are a million variations and fine-tunings.
In a nutshell, I think we might come to the conclusion that those who like solids with their wam are more into humiliation (even self-humiliation) and those who like it liquidy are more into it for how it feels and looks.
Sorry to be a fly in the ointment (an apposite pharase given the topic) but the generalisation isn't true in my case - I'm all about the humiliation, the indignity and the comedic side of wam, and really have no interest in the sensation per se, but I still really don't like the solids.
So there goes my theory. Again it shows how different all of our preferences seem to be.
