Those are pretty good quality cakes. Do you have your own recipe, or just managed to hit the lottery with a good bakery?

No special bakery.... All store-bought cakes, and usually for cheap! ($7-10 each)

It's a LOT of trial-and-error though. I know what types of cakes work, what types of frosting.... even the best colors. There's been some "dud" cakings to get to that point. Also, I also "enhance" them after I buy them to get the perfect coverage....
