I live just outside of Boston, and am on the lookout for new sinking spots, or locations with deep mud. I primarily use a marsh in the Metro Boston area, but a couple of other marsh and bog locations I used to use in the region are no longer viable for various reasons (decreased privacy, spots becoming private property, etc.). Does anyone in the area have any suggestions or leads? I'm open to traveling throughout most of New England for new spots. I'm also open to chatting with new potential sinking buddies as well!
Yeah, my friends and I are currently doing that--but we haven't always had luck when actually going to these places, even with watery locations. For example, we've learned not to trust he brownish-looking locations because they turned out to be areas of dead grass, rather than mud. There are a few spots we will be checking out soon based on Google Maps, so hopefully we'll hit a holy grail soon!
Oh, and before anyone asks, I have consulted the map of marked sinking spots on QuicksandFans.com. I've checked out a couple of those spots already and found that privacy was lacking in them, but there are still more I aim to visit.
