Agreed!! The unbelievable part is that this was a "REAL" pie, and it was half empty when they threw it. I believe it was a lemon Meringue pie. I have the entire clip, and it is superb!!

Well, of course you're right about that Kay, a spectacular first pie hit for you there! And that whole video is a classic, with plenty of sexiness but also one of the few truly funny WAM videos - a combo that can't be beat! I highly recommend anyone who doesn't own this video run over to Kay's store and grab this one while they still can. (My understanding is that the store will close for good at the end of November.)

Right around the same time, I also posted a ton of vidcaps from another utter classic of the pie video world, Cafe Wamnifique, the epic summit meeting of Kay and Mrs. Bee at an unorthodox restaurant of Kay's choosing. Unfortunately, that thread seems to have been deleted from the forum. No idea why that would be the case, as there was never any controversy associated with it, at least not that I ever heard about.

There was at least one other New Treasure Hunt pie scene which I liked much better. Only the models and Edwards got plastered - including Sivi Aberg, a Swedish beauty. The models were all wearing bikinis. I had part of the scene from an ad for the show that ran on CBS in New York in the middle of the night, but it was on 4-inch videotape. Even if I still had it, I couldn't play it.

And three of my favorite "first hits." Yeah, the Mexican girl may have been under 18 when this happened, but not by much and she isn't now.

I thought that I posted screencaps from that video around the time I also posted a ton of screencaps from Bee's French Maid video. And also right around the same time that I posted a ton of pics of Kay, right after she announced her impending retirement. I definitely made a ton of screencaps of Wamnifique, but maybe I never posted them, and I had that discussion with Bee about it on the French Maid tribute thread.... [Update: Double-checked, and she does indeed talk very fondly about the Wamnifique video in the French Maid thread.]

Would you mind asking Mrs. Bee if she has any recollection of those screencaps being up about five or six weeks back? I went nuts as usual and made well over 100 screencaps from Wamnifique. If I never posted them, I really should. If only to drive people to Kay's store to buy it, before she shuts it down for good in about a week! That one is a classic for the ages!

Sorry to derail the thread a bit there. To get us back on track, I'll answer the OP's question.

My knee-jerk reactions went back to the mainstream TV pies that first got me into this mess (see what I did there?). The Barbara Mandrell pieing previously mentioned is easily one of the greatest pieing ever on TV for me, certainly in terms of coverage and shocked reaction alone. The french silk pie that Suzanne Somers took in the Three's Company pie fight is right up there at the pinnacle too. Also, the pie her Louise Mandrell took just seconds after Barbara's pieing is nearly as good as either of these two.

Another even older favorite for me is the one Elizabeth Montgomery takes as Serena in the Bewitched pie fight. Part of this for me is the masterful way the pie fight is set up and then brought to its conclusion with Serena's pieing. The whole fiasco comes about because of Serena's scheming impersonations of her lookalike cousin Samatha, and in the end Serena gets her just desserts -- the final and by far the messiest pie of the fight. Not only that, but she's pied from across the room by herself, in essence -- on the show, it's her lookalike cousin who pies her; and from a behind the scenes perspective, through the miracle of editing, it's even more the case, as they created the illusion of Elizabeth Montgomery hurling a pie across the room and landing it pitch perfectly in her own face! (For anyone who is confused here, Liz played both the roles of Samantha and Serena, so she effectively hurls a pie into her own face here, although of course in reality it's two separate performances edited together.)

As far as produced WAM clips go, it's far harder to pick favorites because there are so many great ones and I have really lost mental track of many of them. But almost every pie that PieJinx / Pies Next Door ever did, for instance, had a really great first pie hit. Then again, the first pie was almost always the only pie in those videos, so it really had to count, but he rarely disappointed. I've done a shit-ton of screencaps from some of those videos, so rather than post them again here, I'll direct you to some of the previous threads featuring especially great first hits and give you one preview pic from each. Note that the second, third, and fourth link belows lead to threads with vidcaps from two different pieings each, so scroll down past the first hit to see the second one too. These hits really are ALL pretty incredible.

Another great first pieing that springs to mind is Anglefan's AJ getting pied along with a blonde model named Heather. The AJ pieing is the classic one... the earlier hit on the blonde is just to provide some context.

As mainstream hits go, the Earth to Kids pie (of Gina Hecht, I think that's her name) is hard to top for me. Not a great 'target' but what a massive hit.

Perfectly beautiful girl, and an epic pie sandwich - she doesn't even blink - it's just zero to smooshed in 0.6 seconds.............!!!

This might be my favorite MG first hit. The setup (business woman in work clothes being warned of a pie headed her way) is excellent. More to the point is that a good chunk falls off and some lands on Lane's shoulder for visual interest; and yet her face still gets completely covered. I also like the texture of the cream; it has a sort of whipped look and isn't runny at all (this may not come across well in the gif).

Like everybody else said, it's impossible for me to choose one, but there were a few that came to mind as soon as I read the question. This list is not even remotely inclusive, as you can imagine.

I think Shell from Most WAM looked amazing as she kept her eyes open right until the pie made contact, then she let it sit for a few seconds before doing the perfect single-finger wipe.

Junko from PAG is still at least tied for favorite Japanese WAM model. She was also very good about keeping her eyes open until impact and not immediately wiping.

Roxy and Dolci of Anglefan fame always stood out to me, along with the Art student (didn't have time to search for her vids.) Roxy in particular had amazing initial reactions in all of her pie and slime sequences, and has some of the best initial pies in all of Ken's catalogue. I thought she was way underrated and wish she had done more.

There are so many. I might add more if I have some time. It's been kind of fun searching through the archives.

I don't normally double dip but I figured I'd throw one out there from my personal collection. We stopped contributing a while back for various reasons, but we still make time for fun when we can. This, I can honestly say, is my absolute favorite first pie hit of all time. It took every bit of my willpower not to jump in there with her, but there was another pie and a couple buckets of slime with her name on them, and sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

These are all wonderful, and the last two were new to me (dunno how i'd never seen the Jane Curtin one?).

The Gran Casino pieings are really memorable - i remember first seeing on a Cliptape, and watching several times. Great stuff!
