This is a LOOONG scene with lotsa back-and-forth between the girls, LOTS of mess for Shelly, and some great physical gags throughout. Kudos to both girls for pulling them off so well. (At one point, Serena "backs into" Shelly, pushing her face-first into a bowl of gloppy cream. TWICE! Then another collision causes Shelly to dump an entire bowl of pink pie filling over her head. To quote Serena, "You are SO clumsy.")
And does Shelly get her revenge and then some? Well... Possibly maybe. Do you need to grab the scene to see the extent of it? Um... Almost definitely yes (for now).
As for the Robin Williams tribute, it was basically a throwaway joke when we were setting up for the next bit. We shot this 6 months ago, and of course none of us knew he would be gone now. But, in coming across this footage mere days after his death, it felt... RIGHT, somehow, to put it up as a tribute. In a weird way, the fact that these two girls who weren't even ALIVE when this movie came out could reference it so casually... That's a testament to the man's legacy as much as anything.
