Saw the pics on Twitter ... can't wait! Sarah's a worthy addition to the team.
(Not letting you off the hook on the editing backlog though .... Messy-Wrestling has cut back on the mud scenes, so we need Mudmatches to take up the slack!)
This match was waaaay better than I thought it would be. My concern about the match wasn't based on the women involved or the companies ability to produce a good match my issue with mudmatches.com lately has been the amount of mud you guys are filling your pit with over the last few matches it's really limiting what the women can do because it's so deep. Even though Samantha and Sarah were able to pull off a decent match please go back to the ankle deep mud pit like you had on your first set of matches so the girls can start being more mobile in the ring.
The depth of the mud in the pit limits the mobility which really slows and limits the action. I will give credit again to Sarah and Samantha for putting on a fairly decent match.
I'm not sure I agree with that -- the deeper mud means they have less fear of getting hurt, and they seem pretty active to me. The facedunks are probably more forceful than they would be in shallower mud, for instance.
On the other hand ... The deeper mud is kind of a liability in terms of visibility, just because a lot of the action is happening below the surface. Same reason why few if any good mud wrestling videos have come out of Studio 588, I guess.
(If it's a choice between the mud in this scene and the mud in, say, "Bikini Battle," though, I'll take the latter.)
I would agree that the level of the mud might interfere with seeing all of the action, I weigh this against being able to dunk someone's face in the mud. Perhaps a couple of inches lower? But the depth, along with the color of the mud are all variables that I constantly evaluate. Your feedback is and appreciated, as well as your support.

The level of the mud from your matches under the wetandmessy.com banner was perfect . (Example: Kim vs star 9 and the Samantha vs Sara Liz matches to name a few). If the objective is to showcase head dunking (the girls being completely under the mud) the current level is best but if you want to showcase light wrestling then I'd go back to the old depth. What drew me personally to your site was the mud wrestling not the girls being submerged in mud trying to execute some moves. The depth prevents a lot of wrestling because certain moves can't be executed without being totally under the mud and potentially drowning. I guess it's all in what you're looking for but I miss the old format. Again if in my shoot I wanted to showcase submerging then I'd go with the deep pit. If I wanted the spotlight on the wrestling then you'd definitely have to go back to a depth just above the ankles and less watery. I'm a HUGE fan of your old matches the two before Sarah vs Samantha unfortunately we're a bit disappointing.
First, the color is not so important. Gray is nice, so is brown and tan. Dark or black doesn't work because there is no contrast, so you can't see shapes and curves.
The consistency of this mud is good, soupy and thick like a gumbo.
Personally, I do like the depth, somewhere around knee deep, because then the girls not only struggle against each other, but also the mud. Plus, it cushions any bodyslams and make a nice, impressive splosh both visually and audibly.

All the things that you liked happen in the earlier matches. The mud the producer uses is pretty thick so at ankle deep there was a significant cushion, and plenty of splat. These matches are very light fantasy matches so I'm not expecting real aggressive grappling the point I'm trying to make is that the deeper the mud the less grappling/wrestling. To woody1296 I'd suggest you check out the mud matches prior to the crystal vs Samantha match (that's if you haven't already seen them) I'd like to know which you prefer after viewing both depths. Again I did rather enjoy the current match and I do recommend it especially for lovers of breast mauling
Dave, first of all Regis is a wanker don't listen to that guy LOL (Just kidding Regis) Your video's rock, well filmed, lit and produced, you make a great product, hell I buy your videos so that has to tell you something. Now as they call me Mud Mad Phil and I have produced some of my own Mud Videos I might have some constructive advice.
The girls do a great job, the depth is perfect, just right for head dunks but you can still see the shape of hottie. I have seen great mud that's almost white, mine was very red/grey all the way to almost black, no one colour is correct, you can never please everyone. One thing you might fix is the consistency, its not a smooth as chocolate, then again when I first mixed it mine was not either, it get smooth from lots and lots of usage (mixing), or I did experiment with adding other things including oil and talc to the clay that also made it lumpy. Another thing I used to do is add some pool chemicals over time, don't know how long yours is around but mine would get smelly if I didn't add small amounts of chlorine and anti algae gunk.
Oh and if I ever find my self on a tip to LA I would love to sponsor a match. Keep up the great Mud Matches or I will have to start shooting again....
But kaolin is usually white, right? And the 80s nightclub mud wrestling scenes with the shredded foam in the pit are usually either a light brown or a greenish color, depending on how the footage is lit and color-corrected. (Look at DOUBLE EXPOSURE or ALL THE MARBLES and it changes from shot to shot.)
I'd love to see a faithful recreation of the mudpits from those days, but I've never seen a wam producer try, and I'm not sure we even collectively know for sure what the right kind of clay is, do we?
As long as the mud isn't waist deep if the girls are on there knees then everything else I'm fine with. The mud color isn't a factor to me as long as they don't start using topsoil I'm good.
