Lately with all the thunderstorms, Pennsylvania has started to look like a rain forest. Everything here is growing exceedingly fast, and a lot of trees have been coming down. I thought I'd go check out and maybe reclear some of the trails in the woods that go out to the river.
There was a lot of thick brush, and one of the branches I cut had a lot of tension on it. When I cut through it, it lashed my hand. I lost my grip on my knife and it went right into my leg. Only four stitches though, it could have been a LOT worse.
Oh my! Glad you are alright considering the major leg artery you could have sliced. We're experiencing the same thing here in Virginia. All the construction sites have tempting red clay, but I'm sure there is hidden rebar and glass in the clay that calls to me.
there are so many hidden dangers, recently we were tidying up the garden before having a bit of fun. I'd been repairing a pond fountain and felt a sharp prick in my arm, took of my padded shirt but couldn't see anything, later on it was itching like hell. The following morning my arm had swollen massively resulting in a visit to the medical centre. It turned out I'd been bitten by a domestic spider and it had become infected! I almost ended up in hospital, had my arm in a sling and wasn't allowed to drive for a week! The doctor said that because of the changing weather, house spiders are becoming more venomous at this time of year, then later we'll probably have the pissed up wasps to contend with again. Last year we had a problem with really aggressive wasps, it turned out that fruit falling from trees was fermenting due to the heat, the wasps were getting drunk and attacking people, not good, especially when they invade the pub and start getting in your beer glass. lol
