Though the scene is relatively short, it does contain some quality syrup wam. Nathalie Boltt, who portrays Penelope Blossom on Riverdale, is covered in syrup (not technically on-screen) and interrogated by her daughter. I saw a notable absence of this scene on here, so I thought I'd add it. Enjoy.
I always wonder about scenes like this as in why they decided it to shoot it this way. You don't actually see ONE DROP of anything poured on her. There has to be a reason.

Applied WAM. Happens a lot when the actress reluctantly agrees to "get messy," but not in the moment in an uncontrolled scene. The mess is applied like makeup off-camera.
In years past, directors would cheat by having a "stunt double" take the actual mess, and then the actress would appear in closeups with "applied mess." (Not always, but enough. Kathleen Turner in Man With Two Brains is a famous example.) But in this era of frame-by-framing, those cheats are too easy to spot.

Yeah. Two good examples that come to mind are Selena Gomez's chocolate slide scene, when her stunt double slid across the floor, and another being the two scenes with Anna Faris from the first two Scary Movie films where she gets blasted with "semen". The second one is fantastic, but is obviously a stunt double.
