Two days ago, in quest for the moar perfectest mud evar (TM, probably), I dressed appropriately, as one does, in black pleather leggings, my trusty slightly heeled hiking boots (people keep telling me they're inappropriate for the trail! go figure!), and a black off the shoulder top... well, no shoulder really. Just laces.
And I went looking for mud to get messy in.
Why, Mina, are you talking about mud and messy in the Wetlook forum, you might ask?
Check the fourth subset (03- because the first two are both labeled 01!) of my photo album My River to see the details!
The playlist was a mix. I have so much I move things in and out by season, and try to randomly shuffle through each album before playing it, and actively try to defeat iTunes idea of "random" which means the same songs over and over.
Goth and prog metal and select other things in all genres are currently year round listens; hair metal, thrash, new wave, eighties pop, r+b, funk, and folk are some of the genres that get a boost in the summer.
In sadder news, I didn't wait to put the phone in my purse when the battery almost died. Instead, I took off the backpack strapped bag while I was still knee deep and in pouring rain...
And I knocked the iPod off my sleeve and into the river.
RIP iPod Shuffle!
(although the physical button to play and pause gave up the ghost two days beforehand! so it wasn't the same old Shuffle it has always been... )
That happened shortly after this, the last pic of it, showing it playing happily, half-immersed in the river.
you wear the ipod when getting wet? surprised that it lasts more than one adventure. do have to say the one pic of half submerged ipod was.. oddly intriguing probably because it was purposefully done.
my biggest concern with the wam stuff is ruining things, so mostly just do wet stuff. are you able to wash/save most of the clothes/shoes?

I was watching the waterline and (kinda) trying to keep the bag on my back dry. The iPod was just coincidental.
It's definitely been submerged many times on past walks, before I took any pics.

I'm... in the same boat.
I don't enjoy destroying the clothes. To me, there's nothing sexier than being able to be out in the river, wet and muddy, and then rinse off and walk "amongst polite company."
And they don't have a clue what you were doing.
Some things have a short life of it, shoes tend to have a particularly limited time span before they fall apart. Poorly made shoes might not last past the first session.
I've had two pairs of boots get moldy after milk products were used in the wamming, but I've also kept things alive that I thought I destroyed.
is the ipod always on your sleeve? or sometimes in the bag?
yeah, it is quite sexy doing it out in a secluded area and then walking back where people don't know. i'm concerned they would noticed that my sneakers are either wet or muddy, and that something must be off. but even after washing, the sneakers never felt right for a long time which was annoying.
but then there are those mud runs, and those would just be overwhelming.. everyone purposefully getting clothes and sneakers muddy, with complete strangers watching. almost like letting the inner child win.
