But seriously, ever since I've been using instagram for my non-WAM production work, there have been loads of models recommended by my algorithm I'd love to shoot. IG even showed me an influencer on the rise who lives in my apartment building. The days of having one or two favorite models you know by name are kinda done--anyone who's not camerashy is a "model" now. And they're all very WAM-able.
The reason I don't reach out to any of them is multi-fold: First, I need to save up a lot of money to make sure I come correct in my offer. You don't slime pretty women by underpaying them. Second, the physical shlep of the work is getting to me. But perhaps the most important reason is if you shoot enough kink content you can get a good read on which models might be open to your pitch and who wouldn't. And if you approach a girl for kink work who absolutely doesn't want to do kink work (and to keep it 100, that covers about 90% of the most attractive models out there*), you not only offend her but you run the risk of developing a reputation as an uncreative creep who cold calls girls for kink content. I mean, that's exactly what I am but I don't need to be badmouthed around town!
ETA: I'll give you an example: There's a model/influencer in my city named Hannah. I'd been following her for a couple of years and now she's got almost 700K followers and a social media job for a national sports company. My window to shoot WAM with her is pretty much shut. And if I cold call her now then not only am I an idiot for asking an IG "famous" girl to get slimed in her underwear, but she could share that funny story of the guy who asked her to do such a thing with her 700K followers. No thank you.
Of course, if you meant UMD models, well that's simple! I'd go with Kate from MMC/WildThang since she's local to me. Reasons 1 and 2 are pretty much it for me. And she and her husband have a great operation working so what do they need me for?
* - As a caveat, I'm not including simple foot shots in the statistic I pulled out my ass. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting an instagram model who'll show you feet for a few bucks. Too bad I absolutely hate feet!

Great post Specialist. Social media and every attractive women being a "model" nowadays has really changed the game. I'm wanting to get back into producing content, but finding models is tough and what you need to offer to "come correct" as you say seems like it would leave the endeavor not only not profitable, but a financial loss for the producer. Ten years ago you could just throw up an ad on Craigslist and find girls to do shoots for a couple hundred bucks.but it's definitely changed

This is really well written. I cannot imagine the task of having to fish through IG models and 'sus' out if they would even entertain the idea or fly off the deep end by asking them.

Thank you! The "Will She or Won't She?" game is always a grind. If the girl doesn't know/follow you, IG will just throw your DM in the "request" bin. And whether she read it or just ignored and deleted it, it'll only show up as "sent" on your end. So I can at least tell myself those messages never went through instead of worrying that there's a growing number of women in Chicago on the lookout for a weird guy prowling around looking for ladies to slime. Of course, there's the 1% of times where she took the time to tell me "no" in the most emphatic way possible.
Just so I don't be a complete Debbie Downer, there have been times when it worked out beautifully. There was an indie wrestler I saw on TV back when AEW had shows they put on youtube featuring a bunch of no-names. I looked her up one day, saw that she had a Patreon where she sold bikini pics, and reached out with my best most polite pitch. Surprisingly enough, she was down to clown and to this day it has been the most proud "get" of my career.
So my advice to anyone interested: If she posts bikini pics and monetizes her look already, it doesn't hurt to ask. If her social media presence has nothing to do with being a "hot chick" (or if she is the "hot chick" but only in the most demure, fully clothed manner)...well...it still doesn't hurt to ask but expect a whole lot of nothing.

OH wow! Bratty, I would love to see that. LOL! 
I've always tried to find "new" models or actresses that just seem fun and want to enjoy the shoot. Have seen many girls out there who we'd love to have sot with but when you speak to them and explain the type of shoot and what they would be doing you just know it wouldn't be good. Given most of our shoots would involve being dunked under the gunge, our priority was always they'd be happy with that and still be fun.
