Disclaimer from the jump: sorry if the following has already been posted, I'm not an everyday visitor to the forum.
A few months ago the topic of the Goldie Hawn "Laugh-in" caking scene came up and very few of the forum participants seemed to know about it.
I had a DVD poor quality clip from the legendary Hurley Coward clips collection, but I lost it during one of several moves over the years.
Anyway, I was perusing the WAMTEC messy archives and saw that most of Hurley's stuff is available there! Not sure if this is genrally known by those more recent members who would like a collection of historic, otherwise unavailable scenes. I certainly didn't know.
And sorry, I don't know the exact download number at the moment, but if you search Hurley collection on the Wamtec Superstore you'll find it, along with a lot of other classic scenes. Many of these have surfaced elsewhere, but some, like Goldie's I have not seen anywhere else.
I'm not on Mark's payroll...I think he's more of a wetlook guy and did not hype the fact of the availability of the Hurley stuff...or I just missed it. If others did too and want to see this material, I thought I would make this post.
Anyway...the Goldie scene is a great one, even in fuzzy quality. Kate Hudson's mom is in all of her late 60s glory, dressed in a short waitress dress/apron getup, and her blonde hair piled into an impossibly intricate vintage up-do. She pauses to talk to Dick Martin, who comes through a swinging door dressed as a waiter, holding a huge cake. As Goldie engages Martin in animated conversation, Dan Rowan suddenly barges through the door, bumping Martin and causing him to slam the cake into Goldie's gorgeous face.
The cake appears to consist almost entirely of white sloppy cool whip type material and not only achieves great facial coverage, but slops the entire front of Goldie's costume. She turns to the camera and gives a great mock crying reaction. The download includes the scene in real time and a slow motion replay with Goldie's side of the shot blown up. This further distorts the fuzzy quality but its still worth the $12.50 (if I remember correctly) cost of the download.
The scene's not perfect. While she is talking to Martin, she's at a bad camera angle mostly from behind that doesn't show her clean face well. And as stated above, the overall quality of the tape is just passable. But with all that said, its still an opportunity to see WAM history and the caking of the beautiful Goldie Hawn in her physical prime in a sexy outfit.
FYI I have a poor quality VHS recording version of that Goldie Laugh In scene from old VCR recordings in the 1980s....but....I am just about to replace that poor recording with a brand new digital mastertape recording of that scene...coming in the next couple weeks or so.....cos....
....they are currently airing all 141 episodes (6 seasons) uncut on the digital cable channel called DECADES TV. If you recall about 10 years ago there was a digital cable channel called TRIO TV (now defunct) that only aired about 50 of the shows, but heavily cut down into a 30 miniute format. Now producer George Schlatter has licensed all 141 1hr shows to air on Decades TV....so now we can get to see high res digital quality from his mastertapes.
Decades TV has been airing the shows in sequentiial order....2 shows per day....and so far they have aired all Season 1 and Season 2 shows and currently they are midway thru airing the season 3 episodes. This Goldie wam scene has not yet aired.....and she left the show after Season 3 and was not in Seasons 4, 5, or 6,,,,so this Goldie episode has to be airing in the next 5 days before they finish the Season 3 episodes.
So...set your DVRs.
If you do not get Decades TV in your area then never fear...I am recording the show every day and when I see that scene I will post a videoclip to Twitter and Facebook for you all to grab. I can't post to Youtube, cos they keep shutting me down on Youtube whenever I post tv clips.

ps....while recording the Laugh In series from Decades TV I discovered another cake gunging scene that Hurley and I never knew about....where Patti Deutsch was gunged.
I didn't think the Goldie scene in real life lived up to my anticipation of it, but YMMV. It's still a pretty good pieing/caking for a hot celeb in her prime.
Mark, you can send me the clip and I'll throw it on YT for ya!
A brief but excellent caking scene! Never heard of or saw the other "cake gunging" Mark refers to...but what I do remember about watching Laugh In as a kid was how eager I was to see one of the many featured super-cute go-go dancer girls yell " Sock it to me!" and get pied....which never happened (there were several soakings with water, which were not bad/or without some satisfaction)...I forget how many seasons it was on, but I eventually gave up on them ever pieing anyone (except Dick Martin once, with a fruit pie)...and realized at some point that there was most likely never going to be a pieing of note (i.e., a pretty girl)...funny, I never saw the Goldie Hawn caking scene (or the other one)...if I had, I would have been over-joyed (as it was better than many pieings in terms of coverage).
