Just asking for a bit of advice, planning on a gunge session with someone in the coming weeks, and really want to use a blow up pool from argos (the rectangular one that easily fits 2 people).
Bit concerned at how I clean it all up though, like do I bucket it all out and hose it down or what?
Hey- few options: line it with some plastic sheeting- make sure it's not too thin or it'll tear real easy. Then scoop out most of the gunge into buckets, ball up the sheet and you're pretty much done Don't line it- use as is, scoop out most of the gunge into buckets, then get the remaining bit with some hot soapy water and a sponge, and towel dry If you're feeling rich- only plan to use the pool once, scoop out most of the gunge then deflate and chuck (not v environmentally friendly, but quick)
Some pix of a couple of setups I've had to give you an idea.
When I've done it before I've taken what I can out the pool by filling jugs by hand scraping the dregs from the side / floor of the pool. Then fill a washing up bowl of warm soapy water, take an old rag dipping in the soapy solution to wipe away the gunge / dry gunk. Soak up all the dirty water, repeat with clean water like when you wash a car... Takes a while but your pool will be clean, just let it air out for a day or so to make sure fully dry before storing.
Buy a dustpan and brush set with a rubber bit on the pan and a large sponge.
1. Use dustpan to scoop up gunge in to bucket, this will remove about 95% of gunge. 2. Empty bucket of soapy water in to pool and use a sponge to clean the sides. 3. Use dustpan to scoop up messy water. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all gunge is gone (probably 3 or 4 times) 5. Use a dry towel to get as much water off as possible at the end and leave to dry for several hours, preferably over night.
Pretty much what the others have said, I've got the very large pool (could easily fit 4!) Which can be a lot of fun, but the gunge isn't that deep (even with 100l) - but depends what you're wanting to do.
I find it easiest to get the gunge back into buckets then rinse down the bath until gone. Cleaning the last bits of the pool is a pain, but warm water and a slightly abrasive sponge work wonders....
