Our friends and colleagues at MessySupplies are being plagiarised.
Someone is ripping off, not only the ideas (which isn't illegal, granted) but they have also duplicated the data sheets, the advert descriptions and a lot of the hard work that has been put into creating their brand and website. This is the danger of making so much digital information available (such as data sheets and mixing instructions etc). Ideas can be stolen; But from the beginning, they've wanted to be open & honest while being a service for all, including producers. Hence the producers club (if you're not in it, go message them!)
It should be illegal to copy on that scale, but the law is a bitch with this type of thing. They are very upset and cross about this*, but they've made it clear they will not retaliate and will remain professional, focusing solely on their customers fulfillments.
There are several gunge suppliers out there and they all co-exist professionally, albeit in a professionally competitive nature. Most don't lie, interfere with, copy or try to tread on anyones toes. MessySupplies decided to remove themselves from UMD partly to protect the schools/family market, but also to not tread on the toes of another supplier who was very prominent here.
As a producer we know how important this is, as we take it seriously with our own sites. We really try not to copy or intentionally rip-off other producers ideas (and I hope we have never done that!) We've had this problem at Messyworld also (as I'm sure many others have) with people claiming to be us to contact models to get videos made.
MessySupplies want to make it clear to everyone that anything other than 'MessySupplies' branded content from their genuine social media accounts is not them and has nothing to do with them. We would like to take this opportunity to do the same.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but it's also very bloody annoying!
I stress, no one on here has ever done any of the above, and of course, no professional producers. That should go without saying.
(*We share faciltiies with MessySupplies and one of our models works for them part time. As they do not have a physical presencse here on the UMD, we wanted to help spread the word to a wider audience who may not follow their social media accounts.)
