Happy Monday! This is a reminder that anyone who has a store, and anyone who uploads explicit videos regardless of a store, will be required to be verified. You're verified once you send in a photo ID and fill in your Custodian of Records info.
Even if you have a store with no explicit content, the billers still consider it fetish material made for adults. And if you upload explicit videos not even for sale, I'm still asking for verification... with all that's going on today I hope you can understand why. I only need the ID of the account holder, not the ID's of hired models--those are to be held by your Custodian of Records.
Most of you who were required to be verified have already sent your information in--thanks! In the next couple of weeks, for anyone who still isn't verified, I'll just temporarily hide your explicit scenes until we can get things straightened out. I don't have a hard date, but I'll start taking action on this in early September.
For now, "explicit" does not mean nudity per se, but does mean any sort of masturbation or sex. Even heavy touching through clothes may qualify as masturbation. We may adjust where we draw the line as we're informed by our biller and current events down the line. For now, photo galleries and other pic uploads are not under any additional consideration, but in the future they may be.
At some point, I'm not sure but I may require logging in to see explicit content. That would at least document that all users viewing the explicit content have read and agreed to the TOS which declares that they are of age. I'm really resisting using any 3rd party verification systems I guess because even trustworthy ones could get hacked.
One more thing: We should probably stop making scenes with the actual logos and titles from our childhood shows. Of course we understand that it's a nostalgia thing reimagined for adults, but they are still kid shows so maybe we should have a discussion about glamorizing them in this unvarnished way. Just a thought.

That times at least a million.
If people want to reminisce about tv shows from their childhood then this isn't the right place to do that and making scenes using the logos and or titles is too close to being creepy.

Well, at least it might be seen that way by outsiders. One of the new CC stipulations is that sites must be absolutely clear that they are not trying to attract users looking for any kiddie stuff. Putting the actual kid show logos and using the actual titles inside of our fetish content might just trip that flag, ya think? Why not just keep it all a loose reference so it's more clear that we're just playing on a deeply-rooted theme, and not actually trying to co-opt any brands, or... attract that keyword traffic.
I know I uploaded my ID for Custodian Of Records, but when checking my profile to confirm, I can't tell if I uploaded a govt ID, it has a green check mark in the box, but the field is blank

If the green tick is there then you uploaded - you should also have a green tick on your main profile page that says "verified" if you hover the mouse over it. Bear in mind MM doesn't keep any of the data on the UMD servers, once received it's pulled off the server and stored off-line and encrypted, so even if someone managed to hack UMD itself, they wouldn't get any of our records. The tick confirms it's been received and accepted. I can see the green tick on your profile page just above your name, so that means a verified account.
Another thought: It's never really been required anywhere to supply the actual photo ID's of your models, or copies of your agreements. When you shot your content, you and your models understood that those documents would be for your records only; A new requirement demanding that info now would be unfair and surely bring up a lot of privacy issues.
This info is still not required now, but there are indications that it may be some day, at least for new material. For future shoots I would suggest we start to adjust our thinking to get ready for this. Maybe adjust the model agreements to mention that their ID's may have to be shared with any websites that bill for the content. It sucks, but at least you'll have yourself covered on paper if it comes to that.

Yeah, it's using the actual titles and actual logos that takes it too close to the very slight chance of it being flagged up.
Then there's a question about people having screenshots from kids shows as their profile picture / avatar. Chances of that being flagged up are basically zero and it's not going to be recognised by anyone other than people who used to watch the shows however many decades ago. At the same time, it could certainly be argued that having screenshots from a kids tv show could attract / be of interest to those looking for kiddie stuff.

Actually that wouldn't be OK. If it's content from the actual kid's show then it's off-limits whether it's a video or a picture. I need to make our TOS a little more clear on that....
Just before I saw this post, I was thinking about a change to the "magic phrase". Someone would ask a question such as, "Do you like xxxxxxx" where anything could be used. Reply, "No I don't" and that has the same results. Any question that could get that response could be used. Maybe it's the same as before, it was just a thought and I thought I would share it here.

Written content won't trigger a requirement for photo ID. Videos marked explicit will, and I'm not sure but explicit photo content may also trigger it at some point.
We're getting there. Lots of you are all good on the photo ID requirement now. But on Oct 1 I'll have to start closing stores and hiding content from producers who haven't supplied one.
I've heard a little bit of hesitation from producers who still think we need to be sent your model release forms or model ID's or other internal documents, but that is not the case. We just need the ID of the owner of the UMD account. This satisfies the billers' requirement that we've actually checked your age, which turns out is necessary anyway on an adult site. If you'll show it to the pub bouncer then why not to the people serving your explicit content to the entire globe
Anyone can inbox me with questions or concerns. Thanks everyone who already sent in their stuff
Stay messy, my friends

In order not to delete the images and videos with possible explicit content published by me, I sent a photo after my identity card, although with fear. I hope that as you mentioned, my personal data in the bulletin will remain confidential and will not be seen, used by other people with bad intentions.
