Hey guys. Remember Phoebe Rodriguez? The Canadian that made most of us smile everytime she took a pie to that beautiful hot face of hers. Anyway, she dissapeared quite a number of years ago and I was wondering if anyone knew exactly why she hung up the towel? Is any of her material still for sale anywhere?
Just throwing it out to see if anyone can satisfy my curious mind.
If I remember right, she said she was done with the fetish stuff for a while, and was taking a break, but never came back. Last I heard she was wiring an autobiography but I don't know if it ever came out.
I had almost every one of her vids and man, that pie sandwich would have it's own wing at the WAM Hall of Fame.
Phoebe was incredible! First WAM videos I ever purchased. Beautiful, wonderful reactions, and tons of mess. Last time she was on UMD was years ago and I think some creeps drove her away.

I don't remember that necessarily, although it's a shame if that did happen, but what I remember is that she seemed to pop up about once every 18 months or so and hint at a comeback that never quite happened.
Sorry to say, but I found it all a bit tiresome by the end. Yes, of course it was entirely her decision to come back or not and good luck to her either way, but I'd rather she'd just stayed retired rather than mentioning plans that never came to anything.
However, she was the first wammer I ever came across on the internet, in about 2003, and she absolutely blew me away - so there are websites for my fetish? Wow!! I agree with everyone else that she is a WAM legend and her scenes were great. Best of them for me was one she did for - Pie Fight Girls, I think? - that involved her being pied, over and over, for about 25 mins. Honestly, I think it's one of the greatest pie scenes ever made
Creeps did drive her away and I know exactly who did it, but I won't name the idiot, since he still posts here every once in awhile and it was years ago. He rudely replied to one of her threads. I think he said something in a paragraph to her about how she needed to step her game up and get naked, which ignited a rant from her. If I remember correctly it ended with her saying "I OWE YOU NOTHING"
In fairness it wasn't just him, some other people ganged up on her and were vocal about how she would repeatedly claim she was about to make a comeback, but the reality was she would just show up every few months, just to push sales on her old material.
I thought the reason was that she was asked to swear in the video she did with Neil. She didn't like feeling forced to do something she wasn't comfortable with and she told herself NEVER AGAIN. And that was her last video she was on screen for. She did ONE more years later with some other chick. She said it was a test to see of the market was still there. I guess sales didn't go well.
And if there ever was a chance at a comeback years later , people being nasty certainly didn't help.
I think some of us are viewing Phoebe through rose-tinted nostalgia glasses... and hey, that's fine! She was definitely a pioneer in some ways, but acknowledging her flaws doesn't take that away.
FYI I was a huge Phoebe fan back in the day like most folks. There had been a few models before her who did their own PG-rated scenes, but Phoebe did it the best... and was arguably the hottest, too. For me, the "Big Three" then were Neil, Robby WLP, and Phoebe. Neil had the best pies, but Phoebe was close. And of course there was something appealing about the fact that SHE was the one taking charge of the operation. (Robby's models definitely contributed, but not to the same extent, and Neil's girls were just locals and random models who didn't really have a stake in it.) I think the "Pie Sandwich" was iconic because of the pic... and the lo-res video she uploaded. That was HUGE at the time (pre-YouTube, pre-downloads). So that particular gag is burned into people's brains similar to the Great Race (certainly not the best female pie scene ever, but the one most likely to have been seen by the most WAMmers in their formative years).
Now the tradeoff with Phoebe.... 1) She really only produced videos for a year or so... I think there might've been 11 or 12 total? Not much more. And as someone who bought them all, I started noticing that she brought her friends in more (some videos actually had NO Phoebe mess in them) and seemed less "enthused" as the videos went on. If I had to guess, she got a bit burned out from the attention and demands of the audience. 2) At some point she kinda dropped out of the community, and then the book came out. I haven't read it so take this as secondhand knowledge, but some read it as "dismissive" of the WAM community. Or more simply, she treated WAM as something that was fun at the time, but she'd moved past. I do remember there was a LOT of discussion and opinions about it in the early days of the UMD. 3) And as others have mentioned....

...She DID seem to pop up on the UMD at regular intervals, and every time it was the same thing: She was greeted as a living legend, she answered a few questions, she promoted her old videos (especially when they became available for download), and she "hinted" at coming out of retirement. And then, inevitably, she'd disappear again... for months or years.
I dunno. It's got to be weird being one of the few "superstars" this community produced. Rob Blaine and Bill Shipton were the original two, but both of those guys lived and breathed WAM and basically created the modern community... whereas Phoebe showed up well after the scene was established, made a huge splash, and then seemed to have conflicting emotions about it ever since.
And I don't want to imply her "unretirement talk" was a cynical ploy... She might've genuinely been considering getting back into it, but lost the desire along the way. (She even hinted to me about collaborating together! But nothing came of it.) Or maybe the sales of that one "test the water" clip weren't good. Or maybe the trolls. Or all three.

I had totally forgot about the book. I didn't read it either. I remember someone on the forum saying it said something about she did wam during the time where she had a really bad drug habit.
Bozo1 said: I didn't realize she discussed WAM in it all. Is it written in the first person?
She doesn't discuss WAM in it. It was about a teenage girl who gets into drugs and partying, and falls for Mr. Wrong when she should be with her long-term friend, Mr. Right. I've got it somewhere in my house. After she released this book, there was talk that she was working on a book based on her experiences in the fetish industry; to my knowledge, nothing ever came to fruition.
I would like to say that I miss the Phoebs. She was a pioneer, really; one of the first sites I came across that was PG, which was one of the appealing things to me at the time (I'm a big fan of clothed WAM.) Plus, she was SO damn pretty. Gorgeous brown eyes, long brown hair. Sexy as hell.
It's been at least 8 years or so since she said she was going to make a comeback (the first time.) She even posted some recent pictures of herself in the bathtub Wamming with a bunch of clay. She still looked great, and I remember checking back regularly to see if she'd posted anything new. Alas, no comeback ever surfaced.
I looked through my old postings but couldn't find the thread (it might have been when I was still lurking and didn't have a profile created.)
Anyway, Phoebe, if you still lurk on here and happen to read this, know that you've still got fans. Your videos are still some of my favorites, and I own every last one of them.

Anyway, since I'm dreaming, let me throw this out there: a collaboration with an existing producer for a comeback video? Slapstick Stuff for instance? Who wouldn't want to see Rich do a tasteful shoot with Phoebe Rodriguez? Shit, I know I'd spend good money on it.
Plus, you could let the producer worry about the logistics of the thing. He's a pro. You'd just have to get your pretty face to his studio and let him take care of the minutiae.
I know that'll never happen, but it's fun to type it out.
Hi Gang, I will take a moment to add my 2 cents to this. The way I remember things, the model who went by the name Phoebe wasn't into mess, it was her boyfriend/hubby/ex hubby's thing. I did some shoots with them back in the day, 1 was with Traci from Traci's models, and some were with Mark Kelly. I also commissioned a few videos from them before and afterwards. She was not a wammer but into the quick money a video made. It was strictly business. Her partner pretty much ran the business. It seemed "She" kept coming back here whenever they needed money, saying her dog needed an operation a couple times or had a medical condition or some other financial crisis involved and asked for donations/sales and with the promises of coming back and doing videos. This went on for a few years but they never did provide new material. After awhile this led to some wammers calling her out for making false promises again and again and never delivering, which infuriated her and thus those wammers being labeled as "harassing creeps" apparently. The Neil fiasco was they disagreed over who had the rights to sell the video they did together, not because of any content as someone has stated. I think I may have even contributed $ for that shoot as Neil & I were producer partners around that time. I also have some privy info that I will not disclose but suffice to say I highly doubt you will ever see another new video from them again. Hope this clears some misconceptions up.

Sadly, this kinda confirms what I suspected for a long time. It DOES mean that Phoebe was a trailblazer... albeit in a less-than-flattering way. She's basically the blueprint for every female who pretends to be a "true WAMmer" as that's an incredibly easy way to sell videos to a large segment of the men on here. (Or, more charitably, she's the blueprint for the female who has a huge UMD following... when her husband/BF is the actual WAMmer who's really calling the shots.) Also, the blueprint for the model who comes on the UMD with sob stories about personal catastrophe to excuse weeks/months of missed customs, etc. And then disappears again.
And before arguments start, I am NOT calling out any females currently on the UMD... Or implying that female producers/models are doing it for cynical reasons. Just saying... After hanging around for 15 years... I've seen the same ploys over and over, and it always amuses me how many guys fall for them every single time. (The downside of thinking with your dick, I guess.)
On a positive note... How come Clown Julie gets no love? Same era as Phoebe, but she was legitimately into WAM. And made some really short, funny, messy clips long before YouTube and downloads.

She's in my basement, with Kaydens.

So this makes two times this year, a long appreciation thread was made for a model who didn't like doing wam lol. Paris Kennedy being the first.
If someone wants to make another nostalgia appreciation thread, how about one for the work of Doodmon? Someone find Doodmon and get him producing again.
Thanks for your input Lenny, that was really interesting.
However, it is disappointing to find out that Phoebe never really liked WAM at all. Yes, the WAM world has always divided into "wammers" and "models", but I would have thought that the "original" messy female could be safely assumed to be the real deal, but apparently she wasn't. What next, Muhammed Ali never actually liked boxing, or David Bowie making music?
Therefore, I can sadly see Rich's point that Phoebe was a pioneer, but not in quite the way we'd all thought she was and would want her to be.
As for Clown Julie, I don't know...because her stuff's not available anymore? (Although I'd love for someone to tell me I'm wrong about that...) She did do great scenes, which were all shot through with the Shipton-esque sauciness. Yes, she does deserve some love on here!
Finally, to Piederman, I remember that fetish novel/memoir being floated by Phoebe in the mid-2000s as well, although it never came to anything. Think we can see why now, can't we?

Not trying to start an argument, just wondering: Did Phoebe actually ever rip anybody off for videos bought or customs ordered? I don't remember hearing that this was the case, but maybe I just missed the allegations or saw them and have forgotten them amidst all the other allegations leveled at other producers since then.
I understand that suggesting she would return on multiple occasions and then not following through on that would lead folks to be skeptical about her, but it's not exactly ripping anybody off, is it? Yes, it might be characterized as a shameless way to plug her old videos, but throwing her in with producers who actually took people's money and didn't deliver on promised goods* seems a bit harsh ... unless she actually did that too. So anybody, please fill me in on any details here.
*And let's not forget that there are plenty of male examples of that to go with the group of female model/producers that Rich castigates above.

Haven't thought about Clown Julie in a long time! If she does have a download store still, someone post a link. I'd love to browse it due to nostalgia. I remember she had short video links to each of her videos...I'd be browsing using my parent's old dial-up internet connection, click on the link, and then go find something to do for 20 minutes waiting for the vid to play. Ah, memories.
Lenny: thanks for your observations and 'insider' insights....they were pretty much in line with my own thoughts ever since her e-book came out ('Confessions of a Suburban Party Girl')....Phoebe promoted the book (not badly written, I must say) here while trading on her name/reputation to help sales....
To my recollection, she never clearly/overtly stated that the book had ZERO content concerning her experiences in the wam community (she actually made some veiled comment to this possibility)....But, she did make various (more subtle) statements that it was about her early experiences growing up in suburbia (so one could have inferred that it was pre-internet fame era)....and, she did say that she was either working on, or considering working on, a second book about her wam experiences....although, I discerned a degree of non-seriousness to this....it came off as merely an appeasement to her fans (and to get them to buy her book, again, which was not terrible, and actually had some compelling content to ti)...
Like many here, when I discovered Phoebe's website (the one with her lying down, posing with cream pies) ...I was shocked (that there was such a straight-forward pie in the face site) and thrilled (for the same reason)....and, she had an attractive face and a nice figure...Unlike many here, I did not believe that she was a pie fetishist or true wammer....my instinct was that her boyfriend put her up to it, or, encouraged her (like so many other girls here)....this came from watching a good number of Hurley clips and noting that nearly every one of the amateur clips with a girl had some guy (visible or off-camera) calling the shots...
But of course, I didn't care if she was "genuine" or not....for the obvious reasons....but point is: when, years later, she reappeared here to promote her Party Girl book, and made vague half-hearted promises about a second book....I felt pretty sure that this would never likely happen...if she was as into it as many thought she was, then she would have written a wam-themed book instead....it would have sold more here (and she could have priced it much higher, thought the Party Girl book was not cheap by any means)...but instead, she went for a broader appeal beyond the umd (although with some initial push from members here)...it was a smart thing to do from an ebook marketing perspective...but a tad disingenuous in terms of exploiting her fan base here.
I bought the book a long time ago, and found it a few years back when I was cleaning out my office. I posted pics of it then, might as well share them again here. The back actually states that at the time another book about her time in the fetish industry was in the works. Maybe it just didn't make for compelling reading in her opinion.
The book actually wasn't that bad; I only read it once. Maybe I'll start reading it again before bed.
I've always enjoyed her videos. Only a small part of my "private collection" is female-only but her stuff stands out regardless. I actually prefer that really brief slime clip she did over the famous pie sandwich, the one where after a quick intro she looks right up into it.
Clown Julie was great too, just had a great sense of naughty fun and that puffy sort of bucket mess she used was always a personal favourite of mine. As expected it doesn't seem like there's a set place where you can find her stuff, along with the other classic Splosh-related stuff like Gilly's and all that. I could be completely wrong though - I would love to be linked around - since I don't regularly search out for female WAM.
