Has anybody found the correct way to use a Visa pre-paid card at checkout? Mine just gets declined.

Thanks for trying to make a purchase, and sorry if your card was declined. Our biller basically accepts anything with a Visa logo on it, but you may have run into a security issue or something. I'm not given much information about your attempted transaction, so it would be best if you contact them directly at https://epoch.com. They will be able to tell you more about the decline than I can. I've also inboxed you back.

I tend to post this every year around Christmas because so many people get gift cards and try to use them in the Vidown system. This is as good a time as any to remind everyone that:

If you get a retailer-branded card, in nearly every case it will ONLY work at that retailer. You can't buy Krispy Kremes with a Home Depot gift card

With very rare exceptions, debit/gift cards will NOT work online or at any kind of kiosk or gas pump that requires a ZIP code until the card is registered to a physical mailing address. You normally do that at the card issuer's website listed on the back of the card. With some brands, you may be able to do it over the phone. Call the 800 number on the back.

Note that some cards cannot be used online at all. Others cannot be used outside of the country of origin. You should always research that info before you buy a card. It will save a lot of frustration later on.
