Forward through to 48.00 of the film at the following link, and you'll find a rare moment of lighthearted antics with paint in the rather dark 1938 movie Crime School starring Humphrey Bogart. Sadly, the video in question is dubbed into Russian(!) but it's the only version of the scene I can find online.
Thanks - what a great find (and not available on YouTube yet)! That's the second film Bogie did with the Dead End Kids, but one that is rarely seen. And I'll admit to having a crush on Billy Halop

Not the only one..I always thought he was hot in those young years!!!
I had forgotten about this scene in Crime School, to be honest. I was watching Dead End yesterday, and was looking something up on IMDB when a pic of this scene cropped up. Bogart also appeared with Halop in You Can't Get Away With Murder, which I have on DVD, but still have yet to watch.
Halop was generally the best thing about the Dead End Kids movies, although he aged rather badly and, like most of his co-stars, died at a young age, partly due to alcoholism. He was just 56, Leo Gorcey was 51, and Bobby Jordan was just 42. Very sad indeed.
