There are a few things that make me feel uncomfortable when it comes to the wam community but this almost seems to go unmentioned. If you go on YouTube there are tons of users who have no issues liking and even encouraging underage kids to do wam type videos. Simply put isn't this paedophilia? This seems to be a grey area (in the sense people the people who do it don't hide it) in the fetish world in general. Pretty much every dare video on YouTube you see poorly disguised feet and messy plus a ton other fetish ideas. Is this something that anything can be done about? Would it be possible to get pages closed down? Could you even go as far as to get the police involved? At the end of the day its a sexual fetish and they're getting there kicks from an underage kid.

Was just wondering everybody else's take on it really as its something I really don't thinks acceptable and struggle to get my head around the openness of some people who do it

Good on you for raising such a tricky subject, I've often thought it majorly wrong when people specifically collect youtube videos of kids on gameshows etc. messy or otherwise it's creepy and wrong.
People should know where to draw the line, but many don't seem to understand that it's wrong.

I will do the best I can to answer this for you, I am about to finish my criminal justice degree and a lot of the focuses have involved child stuff.

In reality there is nothing that can be done with the anonymity of the internet. Yes some people might be looking at it in a sexual manner but that is a very small percentage. The majority of people suggesting these things are most likely other underaged kids just supporting and having their favorite youtubers do silly things.

Yes you could shut those pages down but then you would be punishing the youtuber for what they see as an innocent act.

If you try to get the police involved there is not anything they can do without specific information about that person and good probable cause they are doing it for a sexual purpose.

Yes it sucks that there are a few people that do this but remember this is a very small number of people looking at it in a sexual manner

Like Stewy so eloquently put it, the vids, dares, etc., are kids/young adults who are doing something fun or funny and they put the vids on youtube so others can see something funny.

A picture of a pretty, 19 year old girl in a bikini can cause people to lust after her, even though she's just showing off a little bit. But so can a similar picture of a 17 year old girl. The first one is "technically" legal to lust over (though creepy), but the 2nd one isn't. And there will be people who get turned on by her feet, or her tits, or the style of bikini.

When it comes to wam, or any other fetish, there will always be people who take something innocent and make it sexual (that's actually what a lot of fetishes are; the sexualization of something innocent.)

Look at the foot fetishists who have sold women's shoes so they can feel women's feet. (A generalization, but examples have been talked about)

So they would have to shut down (or somehow lock down) any pics/vids of any one under 18, which tends to put a damper on things for those who wish to share pics or vids without a lot of hassle.

Years ago, before the internet, it was very hard to find pics of ladies in "Wam-type" situations. One could "almost" understand (though not excuse) wammers who checked out pics of kids pied because there was so little else. But now, with the UMD, and 8, 000 (an approximation ) sites with wam material on them, there is no shortage of wam pics and vids for anyone's taste's. Yet, as we've seen time & time again, there are some (even on here) that try to talk kids into wam dares or comment inappropriately in pics/vids.

It's not the innocent pics & vids that need to be removed, it the wammers who are paedophiles who need to be banned from those pic/vid - sharing sites.

Why was this moved to off-topic? It concerns wam, or at least the wam community.

I asked MM for it to be moved back but he said this is were it belonged although it was another mod that did it. I'm not sure why either.

It's funny I emailed MM to begin with to see if it was ok to post about this topic and he was fine with it. He did say to word it correctly as it may rub a few people up the wrong way. Maybe it did. It got moved a lot quicker than anything I've seen.

Off-topic should be for things like "Hey, look at these pictures of my cat," not for discussions that are relevant to the fetish.
