Considering we're in a current era where Hollywood didn't bother with pies in the face in a THREE STOOGES MOVIE..... It's a 99.9% safe bet that there's not even a pie in this entire remake. (Much less one that winds up in someone's face, male or female.)

Yeah. Another startlingly original idea from Hollywood . Since the new Ghostbusters was such a hit, this remake can't miss!
Name ANY remake of a hit 80s movie that did better than the original.... in terms of critical acclaim, or box office, or both. (Nominees will NOT include.... deep breath..... Footloose, Ghostbusters, Total Recall (1990 technically), Red Dawn, Fright Night, Robocop, Dirty Dancing, Fame, The Karate Kid, Clash Of The Titans, Conan The Barbarian, Arthur, The Thing, Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday The 13th, Poltergeist.... and let's throw in Overboard too.)
FTR I'm fine with the original filmmaker returning to their original film IF they're bringing something to the table. So kudos, Mad Max: Fury Road and Blade Runner 2049. (Not you, Speilberg, and let's never mention Crystal Skull again....)

I'm normally as annoyed at SJW overly-PC nonsense as the next guy, and I get it with the "Hey! Lets recast *ALL* the men... as... get this.. WOMEN! And have them all be great! They win! They aren't challenged! They don't have to train in the force! Because they're better!"
... but with this one, I see it as just having a fresh take on a remake. No need to cry foul without seeing it. If someone enjoyed the original, if they like Derbez or Farris, no need to not check it out. I probably won't but it's not some kind of protest over SJW destruction like you saw in Star Wars or Ghostbusters.
I get it, though. Fuck the Patriarchy. I agree. Men white-knighting women is why they take 90% of the pies in the face. Domingo Legal could use some Equality in that regard, at least to a point. You head down that rabbit hole deep enough, you end up with a purple-haired hag who won't shave their armpits but uses that effort to shave half their head instead. No thanks. Give me a society progressive enough to pie the fuck out of women without overly chivalrous bias keeping it from happening, but repressive enough that women still feel obligated to make themselves attractive.

You're talking about Laura Dern in Star Wars aren't you? The admiral chick who has no backstory, needlessly creates the third story arc about casino royale, and according to a magazine is "strong with the force" right?

Hey maybe you can help me out. The other day I was trying to find one of the commercials promoting the new three stooges movie where male/female couple was pied greatly. The woman is recognizable, she has definitely been on film before. Her pieing is the very last thing in the commercial. Blink too long and you miss it but its a great pieing. I should have saved it

Dredd was better received than Judge Dredd, since it was written by Alex Garland, the dude who directed Annihilation and Ex Machina.

Could such a Utopia exist?
I always appreciate it when you're a voice of sanity. Unfortunately, this is not one of those times.

That's fine. Not everybody has to agree with me, nor should they. I doubt there is anyone people agree with on every single aspect of the vast universe.
What is far more important than seeing eye to eye, is how we approach our differences. Here, you stated your disapproval, were short and brief and that was that. No problemo.
However, if you'd called me a Nazi or REEEed that I hate womynz or something, there'd be a problem. Likewise, the right-equivalent of condemning those you disagree with to eternal suffering and other forms of pigheadedness is rarely helpful, either.
So, overall, I respect your disagreement, but see no need to make any further issue of it. Back to the pies and shit, methinks.
I went through a list of remakes of 80's movies and Rich is right. Hollywood has failed to remake an 80's movie correctly. The only one I consider to be an improvement is Lifetime's remake of the poorly acted Flowers in the Attic.
