I think the movie was called ' Flesh Gordon'. It was comic spoof of the film ' Flash Gordon' made in the 1980's.

I saw Flesh Gordon at a college party and do not recall it having a pie fight. The above video is also far better quality than Flesh Gordon was ever released in (the best I'm able to find online is digital conversion of VHS, which still looks pretty crappy).

Turns out it's actually Flesh Gordon II. The entire thing was uploaded to Youtube by somebody, although god alone knows why.

Yup. The first Flesh Gordon was made in 1974, then there was a "sequel", Flesh Gordon 2 - Flesh Gordon Meets the Cosmic Cheerleaders (1990). I think this is it.
