Be self-aware of your actions and what they can do to other people. Life isn't all fun and games! You might not know what someone has suffered before you met them and you always need to be upfront about what you intend to do, and that you will respect any boundaries that are set
Agreeing with everyone strongly here, but, WHY would a photograph of her post-pie be included here? Either that is an image of SOMEBODY ELSE, somebody who consented for their photo to be used. Or, slate used that without her permission.

Is the 'rubbing cake in each others face' thing really a thing at weddings?? Seems like maybe a US thing? Has never happened at any wedding ive been to and given the expense of the clothing/hair/make up usually involved and that suits often hired it just wouldn't happen. Also, here wedding cake is usually dense fruit cake with firn icing...made to last, not to splat.

Yes, I've seen it done, but generally both sides of the couple agree to do it. They do it to each other. This does not describe a consensual incident.
But this article does not prove that she could never be a WAMmer any more than being dumped by a water bucket precariously perched on top of a door by a practical joker means that you'll never enjoy a warm shower again.
What it proves is that she didn't tolerate a jerk who deliberately humiliated her at her own wedding and saw the red flag screaming that if he did something like this today, what is coming tomorrow?
A better man might have success. And every man who's replied to this thread to take her side IS a better man.
Just, fellas, if you ever do meet her, steer clear of cake for awhile.

I'm not sure what you're suggesting? Legitimately curious here. That the author made it up for the sake of getting attention? The letter is anonymous. And if it IS made up, what's the point--a fictional situation means that there aren't even people to identify the situation based on the generalities, if it never happened.
Or are you suggesting these events are made up by the newspaper for the sake of getting clicks/readers, hence the stock photo?

This. To be fair they would not put a genuine photo up given that this is an anonymous question column. But surely most of these questions are completely made up. Most agony aunt questions would be on pretty similar themes; many of the humorous local paper stories are made up by people who want to get into the paper.

Makes sense to me! We'll never know for sure, but anything for clicks, right?
