Why does anyone need a separate gunge forum, when gunge is fully on-topic here?
Anything depending on free forum type providers is liable to be very transient, they tend to have rules banning kinky stuff, as soon as they figure out something is "adult" they'll nuke it for ToS violation. At a guess that's what happend to the previous one.

Partly because not everything gunge-related is allowed to be discussed on here, partly because UMD has a pretty horrible reputation for harassment, and partly because NGF was a spiritual successor to EC Gunge and Gunge Talk is a spiritual successor to that.
It was a terrible forum. All they used to do was talk a argue about rigging votes on SMU. The same arguments went on for weeks. They were like spoilt kids. I must join this new group
A different forum discussing kids TV gungings and charity WAM makes sense. This site has nudity and sexual acts and shouldn't associate with those topics, in my opinion.

I sort of see your point but surely kids tv and charity WAM shouldn't be discussed from a fetish context anywhere? I mean that's a bit kinda erm weird and creepy?

I don't see how any site can be the spiritual successor to EC. One of the big things that made the site special was that several sites/on line communities fed into one place. Another was Iain's stoic attitude and the wonderful support Turry gave everyone by sharing stories of his WAM induced plumbing disasters. Don't get me wrong UMD and all the guys behind it are amazing but the internet has completely changed and I do r think it's possible to have a site like EC used to be. I do see why many would like a forum that doesn't have to stick to the rules a down load site has to follow but I think there are still some forums like that running. For example isn't splosh still running? As that's uk based and no longer attached to downloads/ splosh magazine I assume they don't have to stick to the same rules we do here.

Yeah, but there are a lot of "MAPs" as they call themselves now lurking about.

Fair point but I think my main point was that it not being on UMD is a good thing and correct. I cannot in all good faith say I don't enjoy seeing adult female celebs gunged on kids TV but I don't have a need to discuss it with others but some might. As long as they are not harassing anyone I personally don't see that as a major problem.

I personally review and attend to every single report about harassment, and no, we do not have that reputation, unless you mean we are strictly against people who try to post about kiddie stuff. We do have a reputation of trolls gaslighting this site just before they leave, and causing a stink. Happens about once a year or so.
Really, the only gunge-related content that is not allowed here is stuff involving kids, or a substance that is barred. Why would any site bar some gunge-related content because of a reputation for harassment anyway, unless it's the people posting that type of stuff who feel harassed?

My take on this is that the kids shows should be left for kids to enjoy. There's an absolute fucktonne of WAM material made for adult enjoyment, from fully clothed PG all the way to extreme hardcore pornwam, and everything in between, and with every level of production values from proper TV studio down to "shot in someone's bath with an iPhone". So there really is no need for anyone to be using kids show gungings to get their rocks off to. Celebrities are just ordinary people who happened to get lucky and became famous, there are lots of wam models who are just as cute.
There are also plenty of non-kids, general entertainment TV shows that feature people getting wet or messy. Those are fine, when adults go on TV they know they're being watched (and possibly recorded) potentially by millions. But anything featuring or made for kids should be a hard "No". Yes, I know many wammers my age first discovered our fetish as kids ourselves watching TISWAS or messy kids shows. But we were kids ourselves, plus in that pre-internet world we pretty much all believed we were the only one on the planet with this taste.
I remember in 1992 on a trip to Amsterdam, knowing I liked seeing clothed women get messy but before I'd even heard of on-line, I asked a sex video vendor who had lots of naked oil-wrestling stuff on display if he had any where the women were fully clothed. He looked at me like I'd asked for a deep-fried sheepdog on a stick. The combination of bafflement and withering contempt he managed to convey that anyone would want to look at clothed women I can still clearly remember now, fully 30 years later. But the world has totally changed, made-for-wanking-to WAM exists in unimaginable quantities and every conceivable taste, to the point we can all afford to be hyper-fussy about the tiniest detail knowing there'll always be another scene that's even better.
So the kids show stuff should be left for kids to watch and enjoy as the innocent fun it's meant to be. Perhaps a few of them will get the same reactions we all did back in the day and when they're adults, join us here. But for the majority it'll just be hilarious slapstick comedy and nothing more, and it should be left to be so.

Damn true.

I have mixed feelings about this; going on TV is one thing but this opens lots of other avenues for potential exploitation.
There's a lot of content that gets uploaded of innocuous situations where the person most definitely didn't intend for it to end up on an adult website. Often these are members of the public where they've been snapped by someone either intentionally or someone has then taken, say a holiday picture, and placed it in an adult context.
Personally this doesn't sit right with me, all people uploaded to this site should, in my opinion, be treated as models and have the knowledge that the content is being posted here.

From the way speak highly of EC Gunge and say that UMD has a pretty horrible reputation, you can't have been around in the days of WAM related Yahoo Groups.
I can't be the only person here who remembers what EC Gunge was like on Yahoo Groups or more specifically remembers about how many different groups were under the EC Gunge banner?

I was meaning more in terms of what people enjoy themselves rather than upload to adult sites. I was also meaning where people chose to appear on TV rather than random public / street photography. In an ideal world no-one would ever use anything that didn't involve fully consenting models as fetish material but this is very far from an ideal world, so the most workable compromise is probably going to be "hard No" to anything kids-related, but allowing some leaway for things that only involve adults and aren't made for kids.
UMD already has a range of different restrictions on what can be uploaded depending on context, no form of "candid wam" at all is allowed in the download stores, but people who sell such material on their own external sites are allowed to advertise, as long as there aren't any kids involved, etc. MM has to chart a path between multiple conflicting commercial and personal interests and viewpoints, not an easy thing to do, I think for the most part he gets the balance right.

I remember the Yahoo group flame-wars, or at least the bits of them that spilled over into other places, it was like the WAM dark ages. Very glad that's all ancient history now.
I still miss wam story archive and wamchat.net. UMD is great, but I remember logging onto wamchat and having some great conversations - there was always a guy called oggy on there who was really nice and I wonder if he made it onto here. Also, so much roleplaying.
Does anyone remember the young American dude who used to turn up and make very specific demands?
