Hello first I wanted to say how much I love this site and the content. I have been really into wam for a long time. I remember my first experience was with a small amount of borax slime and it spiraled into a full fetish. What I'm getting at is, I'm going outta town in about 2 weeks for a week long vacation. I wanted some tips for setting up so I don't destroy any property or have hard time cleaning. I have a strong obsession with oobleck and I really want it to be my first. I've dabbled with it in the past and it has always felt good on my thing if you know what I mean. There is a local place near where I'm going where I can get a 25lb of cornstarch. I'm going to mix this up and play with it. I've already bought some drop plastic for the floor and some painters tape to keep it in place without damaging paint or flooring, and my plan for getting rid of the oobleck is to dilute the hell out of it with hot water so it doesn't clog the drains. So what I'm asking for is there anything else I should do/prepare for before leaving. I think this is enough but you guys have waaay more experience.
It sounds like you have thought of a lot of the main things. I would say you should cover more area than you think with the plastic and make sure you have clean access to where you are washing.
Anything flour can be hard to get out of your hair, so be careful with that.
And I had to google Ooblek, but it sounds like it can harden. That might be something you try to fold up some of it in the plastic and put in the garbage

I've gotten it in my hair before as long as I don't let it fully dry it washes out pretty easy. I will try the idea of letting some of it dry out to toss it.
I'm not 100% tracking what you're asking for here...sounds like needing help looking ahead to not damage the vacation property? Or are you trying to knock this out at home before you leave?
I try to deal in details. Looking ahead at what could go wrong...look at what surfaces the stuff might get on, see what the ooblek is made out of and how to get that out of/off of the surfaces in the room. Same with clothing. If you're planning on destroying clothing, no problem. But if you want to wash off something oil-based, it might be hard to get it out of your clothing or out of carpet or off of a wall if there's a splash.
Same thing if you're doing something in a tub. Look ahead at what your substances are made of and how they might drain. Some stuff gets thick and gloopy with water, other substances thin out nicely.
And then, weather and disposal. Like, in my neighborhood, if I want to do something with cool whip, I know to throw out the trash bags just BEFORE trash day, instead of the day after, so the drop cloths and whatnot don't reek in the trash can for a week.

I was trying to do it while on the vacation, and I was trying to make sure I don't damage any of the property, since oobleck is made out of just cornstarch and water diluting the hell out of it helps drain it/clean it, but you hit the head on the nail on the ideas I was missing, like being careful of the stuff in the room. I think I have it from here. Thanks for the help guys and info. If anyone has mixed large quantities of oobleck tho I would like to hear how you did it. My plan is to use a paint mixer attachment on a drill to break up the cornstarch so it can mix with the water
