Name a Hollywood D-list female celeb that seems goofy enough (and hot enough) that just might be within our reach.

In other words, who is someone that Lenny/Rich/MG/etc. could ask to be in a WAM video and juuuust might get a YES.


I say D-lister because we will never get Megan Fox or Charlize Theron et. al.

Even a D-lister can get a couple $100K these days for being on some shitty reality show/competition thing. Or a "Sharknado" sort of spoof.

I'm just saying... If it's someone you've heard of, we're talking minimum $30K for a day's shoot. Lenny has definitely ponied up large sums of money for porn star celebrities I'd never heard of (but I guess they were big in the porn world?)....

I would be interested in partnering with Lenny or any other WAM producer and co financing things with a wam producer who can hire a D lister, but it would have to be somebody whom I know, and has a decent resume listed on IMDB.com in b movies or tv shows. I am not interested in porn stars, cos we have hired plenty of those in our past productions.

The one that I was most interested in, and Lenny and I almost snagged her, was actress Linda Blair, cos she runs her own animal shelter in Southern California and she wanted financial aid to support her animal shelter. So Lenny was in contact with her and she had agreed to do several wam scenes for us and we would donate 10 grand to her animal shelter. Lenny was chatting with her on the phone for a few weeks and she was out of work at that time and willing to do it, and Lenny and I were all set to fly out to California to do the shoots at her location, and then at the last minute...she bailed on us. She suddenly got a new tv series contract from USA networks to host a reality tv series about ghost hauntings, and the terms of her new tv contract made it hard for her to work for non SAG union entities like us, so sadly she bailed on us. We also had talks with Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), Sybil Danning and Heather Thomas in the past, and those fell thru as well. But Lenny and I have had lots of success with hiring famous porn stars....but personally I would prefer to hire B movie actresses instead. I know Dave Lodoski of mudpuddlevisuals hired b movie scream queen Brinke Stevens to do some mud/quicksands scenes, and her compatriot scream queen actress Linnea Quigley lives in South Florida near us, and we spoke with her and she was willing to work for us on doing some wam scenes for 2 days. I was in favor of hiring her, but you know Lenny...he is the "Russ Meyer" of the wam world...i.e. he only likes to hire big breasted women..ha ha...and Linnea is not that big in the boob department.

Anyway....I am still interested in hiring b movie actresses or d grade tv stars...and I am willing to sponsor 50% of the hiring costs with another producer if they offer me a name that I know that is not a porn star and has a decent resume of work listed on IMDB.com

My idea--which seemed reasonable and feasible--was to bring in one of the original YCDTOTV girls. Marjorie had a casting page for a spell there (and no agent), while Jill from the last season developed into quite a hottie. BUT I could never find actual contact info and I suspect the moment has passed.

My handful of attempts at booking "names" (solely for their hotness than their name recognition) have all resulted in a LOT of back-and-forth with agents and PR people and their calls and emails... and nothing in the way of bookings. More frustration than anything.

I remember a blog I read( I linked to it on here) in which Carole Davis's son talked about Lenny trying to hire her. It would be cool (for me, I guess) to try for her again.

I'm guessing that some fringe celebrities would be willing to do this, except for the fact that in this day and age of social media someone would be bound to tweet about it, making it known to all. Then cue the "look how far [insert d-lister's name] has fallen!" backlash......

I suppose you could always find a down on her luck celebrity who just flat out needs the $$, although in that case she might be no longer what you're hoping for in terms of looks or might have other baggage (e.g., drug habit). But as someone else said, there's a market for d-listers on the convention circuit nowadays, making it easier for has beens to make a few bucks here and there.

All this having been said there still could be a few "good sport" or "up for anything" types who'd be willing, and the best way to find them likely would be by seeing whether they've done other "fetish" work.

I agree that the most realistic targets likely would be ex WWE/WCW/ECW personas, as even though there's a convention market for them many didn't make the big bucks back in the day and didn't have much career success after they left the larger promotions. Beyond that, there's also some of the former MTV Real World or Road Rules types, or even former contestants from The Bachelor.

If nothing else comes of this, it's still fun to see folks toss out ideas of gals from the past they'd love to see.

Concur with Rich of SlapstickStuff. There are 2 huge problems when it comes to trying to hire known D grade celebs...i.e.

1) Even the least talented D grade female celebs....all have A-grade boyfriends who are megamllionaire investment bankers or celebs in their own right, so even a D grade celeb will not get out of bed and show up for a shoot for less than 50 grand. Look at the actress Kim Richards for example (aunt of Paris Hilton), she and her sister Kyle Richards have only ever dated men in their lives who have a networth of over 100 million dollars. This was the problem we had we Heather Thomas and Cassandra Peterson. They are not interested in money because both of them had super rich husbands (Cassandra's husband at that time personally financed both of her Elvira movies in 1986 and 2001...cos no other production company wanted to finance 5 million dollars needed to make those films, so her husband financed them himself). The actress Pia Zadora was the same...all her films were so bad that nobody would finance them so her husband personally financed them and spent millions trying to promote her career. So, even if a female celeb is D grade and completely talentless (i.e. Kim Kardashian)....they all have the talent of landing super-rich boyfriends and husbands, so they are not interested in a 10 or 25 grand offer of work from Lenny or I, because what a D Grade celebs wants...is not money....but fame and publicity....i.e. they all want to be on a reality tv show...not to appear on a fetish video.

2) The second problem we have often encountered is that many celebs and their agents will only work for SAG accredited production companies, so unless your video company is accredited by the Screen Actors Guild Union in the USA, or the Equity Union in the UK, they are prohibited by Union rules to work for non union video companies as all wam producer companies are, and if they work for us on the side and the video gets widely seen, that actress can then be fined by their union or banned, and the fines are much more than the compensation we are offering, so it is not worth the trouble for actresses to work on the side or under the table for non union entities like us.

So basically, all we are left with are porn stars, and again, we have met many of them, and all the ones we have met all have VERY wealthy boyfriends too (i.e. we chatted with Asia Carrera when she worked or us....and she told us she had a big personal fan and friend that she had met and knew well, who happened to be the 2nd richest man in the world...who owns most of the railroads in the USA now and his Lizard company advertises every 7 minutes on every tv channel in America. D grade celebs do not work for money, cos they can get anything they want from their hubbies or boyfriends. They just want to get some personal exposure, or they are "bored rich housewives"...which is what all these reality tv shows are about these days....over the hill celebs who don't want money, cos they already got everything they want, except they are bored and want some attention and publicity to try and re-boot their already dead film or tv careers.

So, it is not easy to find celebs who have the right attitude....i.e. somebody who is not motivated by the money (cos we cannot compete with the weekly allowances they get from their hubbies...cos they are used to spending more at Saks 5th Avenue in one shopping spree, than any Wam producer makes in an entire year of sales) and somebody who is not expecting that we can boost their careers (cos we cannot do that either) and somebody who is NOT a Diva....and just a really nice down to earth person who is willing to have some fun with the wam scenes. I will give you 2 perfect examples of what are good and bad examples that happened to us...

- we had one famous porn star (that I will not name) who when she arrived, she immediately started her diva routine...and said to us a) where's my makeup artist, and b) where's my reference monitor...and when we told her we did not have either of those things, because we are a low budget company and only amateurs. And after we told her that, we got the scenes done, but she gave us the frosty cold shoulder all day long.

- in another example, Lenny hired the famous 70's porn star Seka, and when she arrived, she was as down to earth as could be. She was a very nice lady who did a fabulous job with pie scenes, and after the shoot, she even helped us clean up all the mess and she assisted with the cooking and laundry in the house as well, so she mucked in....literally... and she was a real pleasure for Lenny and I to work with.
