You see a post full of pictures/gifs/clips of someone fairly new to the scene. Or someone who doesn't post new stuff often. The type of mess or the model(s) aren't really your thing but you can see they put forward a lot of effort to make the scene.
Do you contribute to the thread with a positive comment to offer them support or encouragement just to be nice?

I mean you CAN, but why would you? Highly inappropriate and habitual line stepping DM's is OBVIOUSLY what every woman would prefer, especially if it's the very 1st time you've had any kind of interaction what so ever with each other, gotta make that 1st impression count!
Seriously, Ive seen people in these forums get really angry when someone comments "I really thought your photos were good but you should have had her standing on one foot" or "you should have only used strawberry pies."
Are you talking specifically about content creators who are selling their work? It's not entirely explained in the poll. But obviously if it's a producer then not placating them is okay. Most producers want honest feedback on what their audience and followers want to see. If you don't like a certain producer's work or model, you can simply avoid them. But if these are members and users who are simply telling you their experiences and sharing pics/vids, then I would continue to appreciate and encourage them. They're not here to make what you want to see. They're exposing a vulnerable part of themselves and it's always special and important to give them the safe space that everyone is welcome to do that in. I think encouragement and support is good to do for them.
I try to specifically encourage work of the type I'd like to see more of. If it isn't my thing, I follow the "if you don't have anything nice to say..." rule. The only exception is if the model is stunning, then I comment on the great model and hope that model does something more up my alley later.

I guess the question would work for both producers selling product AND people just sharing their private WAM experiences.
You say that producers want honest feedback as to get a beat on what people like and therefore not a good idea to lie to them and say you like their stuff when you don't. Fair point. But I think the sales will tell them what they need to know. Meanwhile, a little white lie on a thread makes them feel good. And I can't imagine going through all the effort it takes to do a scene and upload pics and whatnot and then getting virtually no replies. The little white lies at least help bump the thread so more people see it.
I don't. I usually just keep my opinions to myself unless I really enjoy something. I won't comment on scenes at all unless it's something I really enjoyed.
If I like a scene, I'll just download it and keep it to myself. If I LOVED it, I'll comment on the thread and say so. So if you ever see me comment on a producer's work, then you know I really did think it was exceptional.
