It looks to be from around the late 80's, early 90's but I was intrigued by the whole concept. Imagine being the non-clown son in this family, where he lives his life playing the stooge to his father and brother. The wife at least got to decide to marry the clown, but the poor boy had no choice.
And I'm curious how the casting call went for these short videos. Did the director tell both the woman and boy right off the bat that they would spend each episode getting pied, watered, etc. It makes me wish that I could have somehow found my way on set!
The name of the show was "Hey Vern, it's Ernest!", featuring Jim Varney as his dimwitted Ernest P. Worrell character. Funny show, it just didn't last long.

I'm a pretty big Ernest fan and I love this show... even if it's mostly entertaining for how... bizarre it is. Gotta say, tho, the My Father the Clown segments weren't my favorite. Mom in them was kinda hot in a milf-y kinda way.
