So I made a bit of an error at work yesterday, deleting something I shouldn't have. It wasn't too serious, but caused a bit of a ballache for the guys who had to undo it.
The head of that department has a good sense of humor and was ribbing me about it in a meeting. Afterwards he messaged me to make sure I wasn't offended or anything.
I said I deserved it and he randomly said out of the blue: "If we ever meet in person, I'm going to bring you a big cake with DELETE iced on it... and probably shove it in your face."
Now I'm contemplating screwing up more until I can ensure that happens.
I think you're boss should arrange a team meeting where he lines up all the guys who had to fix your error and give them a couple of pies each. One by one they rub pies in your face and finally the boss rubs the biggest pie of all in your face. Its filmed so everyone who works at your place can see it. Ha!

There's a nice potential here. Keep us updated, hopefully the pies or cakes a heavy, sticky and gooey.

So as to not make it look like he's actually punishing you (and come off poorly to the other employees) you'll both have to work out the lines/reactions appropriately for after you get caked.
If planned out right it can be a funny thing the others would remember well and would give you and your boss a better rapport (despite your mistakes he can clearly joke with you). Worth considering.
Yeah, nah, if he did that he'd be involving colleagues in something that is a kink for him without their knowledge or consent. Don't turn a nice funny anecdote into something weird.
I once had a colleague who screwed something up email me and say 'if it happens again you are welcome to tie me up and throw kitchen slops at me' and I often thought about how fun that would be
