125s about 7 years ago, then moped for a few years but passed full license this year and bought this in September: (2nd pic to see if we can get any models foamy on the bikes...)
Rode for decades, but a work injury in the 90's put me out of action for years (remanufactured leg, doc said it wouldn't be strong enough to hold up a full dresser for about 5 years) Since it takes a tougher man than me to ride in Seattle's "60 degrees and raining" for 9 months out of the year anyway, I traded my last bike for a Corvette and never looked back.
Here's my first. 1966 BSA 650, heavily chopped with a rigid frame. This was late 70s.
My last was a red 1986 Harley ElectraGlide that got traded just months before I got my first digital camera, so I can't seem to locate any photos at the moment.
I spend a decent amount of time on two wheels. The first bike I owned personally was a katana 600 but I learned to play on dirt bikes and quads. I've also had a tl1000r. Currently I own what was always a dream bike for me. 2003 Honda RC51 (I have a weakness for Japanese vtwin super sports) and a 2021 Aprilia RSV4 factory. The jump to the Aprilia was a shocker. I was NOT prepared for how advanced modern electronics have become on motorcycles. And wow what a beast. There's no sane excuse for having 217HP on two wheels lol.
Yeah the Aprilia V4 is about as bad ass as they come, none of the issues like the Ducati StreetFighter V4S has. They did just come out with a V2 Streetfighter, I may look into one of those when they become available. I could not buy an Aprilia, if something broke I couldn't fix the nearest dealer in 2.5 hours away.
Aprilia has definitely worked out a lot of the issues over the last decade or so. I first fell in love with the RSV Mille as, again, I'm a huge v-twin fan. I wasn't at a point in life where it made sense to get something in that range until semi recently however. Thankfully there's a dealer/service shop about 10 minutes from my house. It would definitely be awesome to pound some pavement with some messy minded motorcyclists. I'd probably have to look into a rental or something if I was to hit Florida as I'm not super keen on shipping wheels cross country. I've done some distance rides, and while I'd probably be up for the challenge of crossing the country on a super bike, I'd wanna travel with gear to shoot with and that's just not gonna happen with sports ergos If you ever wind up in the desert, lemme know and we'll hit the road!
I had a variety of bikes over a number of years, my last being a Suzuki Katana. I was also a motorcycle road-racing sidecar passenger, the lunatic hanging off the side inches from the ground at 140+ mph round some curves.
I've had bikes all my life, starting on some smaller 50's 90's and 125s working my way through kawasaki, honda, yamaha and bmw (there was also an mz in there too but we won't talk about that) currently riding a Honda shadow. I've actually found quite a bit of common ground with quite a few wammers who also ride. It's an interesting crossover/coincidence.
