Possibly whoever wrote that scene did it specifically to wind up the mud-wrestling fans they knew would be in the audience?

TBH it'd be a fail for me anyway - why did they have to take their clothes off? Both would have been way hotter to me getting muddy in their original outfits.

Of course in one of the alternative realities Zoidberg mentioned, after they'd shot the scene the waitress got showered, dried off, changed into a clean bikini and then put her denim shorts back on, the other lass put her dress back on, they stepped back into the mud pool together, each with a plastic pint cup. First off the lady in the red dress completely fills the waitress' shorts with mud, front and back, and she just stands and enjoys as the mud is poured in, then they both lie down together, the girl in the dress underneath, the other one on top of her, cuddling, writhing, squirming, pouring cups of mud over each other even as they roll each other over into the mud...

Well, I thought the oil scene in Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part 2 was a bit of a let down. You see a literal tidal wave of (CGI) black oil about to splosh all over Katniss and her group. Surely someone would stumble, fall behind, become submerged, struggle and fight their way out, then finally run around for a few minutes in a shiny black coating of oil. Definitely would not mind watching Jennifer Lawrence take the plunge! But - NOPE - they perfectly outrun it (well, except for Mitchell - and that is gruesome not erotic) through a convenient door with not even a spec of oil anywhere.

I have to say, I disagree. Some of the scenes from Travesties posted online are good from a wammy point of view, but it doesn't fit Wilde's text. The two ladies are supposed to be icily calm, not throwing things. For that matter, it doesn't even fit Stoppard's text, since it's something producers have shoved into his play subsequently.

Wow, Incredible in its awfulness. How unrealistically the oil just stops and waits as the characters tussle it out.

when I saw this thread I thought: "Oh no, it's gonna be the Olivia Munn giant pie fail all over again!" (where the male co-host is also dressed as a French maid as was presumably instructed NOT to scoop up a handfull of pie and throw it in Olivia's pretty face)...and yes, it's cited here...

...but then, my second thought was the infamous 'Caroline in the City' two pies clip, that ended up being cut and from the show (leaving us with a sitting Caroline in a blond wig holding two really great looking pies)....surprise surprise, someone nicely posted two still pics that I had never scene before showing that at least one of the pies ended up in the actresses face...how nice after so many years to see that there was indeed a satisfying slapstick outcome to the much -commented on scene (and I note that Judd Hersch does not appear in the photos, while he was in the scene in the show, not that I wanted to see him pied)....the pics look like video captures (hard to tell for sure), so somewhere there is a video clip of this scene, thought I doubt it will surface here or anywhere else....but who knows, other 'holy grail' clips have been found...

As soon as this thread popped up I thought Caroline In The City... and then this one.

Although the Caroline show was much more frustration, as it FELT like she would actually get the pies. (And the pics that surfaced years later were nice, but not a substitute for well-lit video.) With Jesse, I was actually OK with it... The alternative, honestly, would've been her smashing the guy with the pie, a scenario that ruined many a promising scene (for me).

Anyway, Applegate took a nice caking on the Muppets. All good.
