As crazy as ever.

I would say "bless her heart, she's trying" but she's really not. She's just a puppet. Trouble is actual puppets don't interfere with the artist's vision by adding in their own mannerisms because pretty much anything and everything this poor girl does looks awkward as hell. I had high hopes for this looking good but her gestures, her movement, it's all in juxtaposition of this beautiful, artistic statement --and not in a good way. They could have thrown Lady Gaga, Beyonce, even Rihanna into this with spectacular results, but the only intelligent decision here is to use Miley Cyrus as a means to get one's name out there.
I just get protective over this stuff. Fet has been a part of my life since before I was even legal to view it, so when I see some starlet using it merely for shock value I get disappointed. It's a passion for some, an accessory for others.
BUT this obviously isn't a reflection on the original poster, the forum is for encouraging dialogue and everyone has the right to post
It's nice to see not all women feel the need to be mindless robots and simply conform to the norms of standard beauty. Miley got a lot of flack for her VMA performance. Why? Was it the fact that she was doing sexual things on stage? Clearly not since most female "artists" feel the need to do that these days. It was because she was being sexual in a very "unsexy" way. In this video as well she is not doing the typical posing of a model which would really be boring in an art video like this one.
As an artist if you're pissing people off then you're probably doing something right.
That lack of sexiness was one problem Miley had, but I'd argue that most of the pop singers who attempt to be sexual on stage come across as unsexy too. The problem she specifically had is that people still view her as Hannah Montana.
You kids today with your Miley Cyruses and your twerking with the hashtags and the bookfaces and the clothing with the stuff on it and the I don't know what. Get off my lawn! /shakes fist
I have to agree with Jilly in that everything Miley Cyrus does looks forced and fake as hell. There's nothing about her that is even remotely sexy or erotic. In fact, the only reason she's now being marketed as a "sex kitten" is because the record companies that own her think they can cash in on the image of a once "wholesome girl" going skank.
There's a really good, in-depth interview with her in this month's US edition of Elle. She's a lot smarter about what she's doing and how she's using & presenting her image than most people on this thread are giving her credit for.

"Thanks for the post" or "Thanks, but not my style" must be passe.

It's also worth considering how Miley Cyrus presents herself compared to how Taylor Swift presents herself. Swift tries to come across as this wholesome country girl, but the music doesn't match up to it, nor does the reality. Oddly enough, the music and persona of Cyrus doesn't match up to the reality either - while Cyrus stayed in a relationship with one guy for over three years, Swift seemed to change her boyfriend more often than her underwear.
See, this is why I have a miniscule soft spot for Ke$ha. At least she's honest about how trashy she is!
