Fuck Lar$
Really? Jeez. I'll be seeing Def Leppard in December, and paying less than half that for a seat. And they're playing 11 UK gigs!
I know Metallica, in fairness, have stayed cooler for longer, but if you were to do a rough head-to-head based on total career sales, number of classic albums and influence, there wouldn't be a huge amount of difference between them. And yet Metallica charge that? (Sigh.) What happened to the anti-corporate, maverick outsiders we knew and loved in the 1980s?
