From my personal collection, I believe all of these were freebie promo shots.
As for memories, I own several Messy Fun VHS tapes featuring Shaun, my all time favourite was MFV2, "My Friend Shaun", which is an absolute tour-de-force in fully clothed sploshing, in which Shaun teaches her elder sister how to be a messy model. The sister wears a silky blouse and dark blue knee length skirt with a jacket over and tights under, while Shaun wears a pale pink mini-dress with matching hat, and go-go boots, and the scene features sitting in eggs, gallons of vanilla pudding and chocolate sauce poured over both girls, and the famous Messy Fun Liquid Hair (tm) on both of them.
To me that scene just about epitomises fully clothed messy perfection, as did several other scenes that Shaun was in. Truly incredible work from the all-time grand master of WAM and one of his hardest working models.
Of course the third image below is from another all-time Shaun classic - Splatgirl!
Shaun was a wonderful woman and I still love her, she broke my heart
Its good to know after all these years she is still appreciated, I doubt very much if she ever looks on here, so I will mention the thread next time I speak with her.
Here are a few private shots of her, one of her clean, just modeling for me, one of her expressing how she felt about me while muddy and one of us on Rob Blaine's set just before we shot 'The Wedding'
Very cool Phil, glad you could share these. It was Rob Blaine, Shaun, Daisy and Co. that helped pioneer so much ~ only a handful do such fully clothed WAM any justice.
Question, how old was Shaun at the time these were taken? Seems like such an eternity ago. Thanks in advance!
Shaun was in her mid 20's so she is 25 years older now, heading towards 50, so am I, I turn 60 next year.... Its kinda funny when people ask me about those early models, some I stayed in touch with, most disappeared and probably have 3 kids, fat on Texas BBQ, lots of wrinkles and a house in the burbs. LOL
Its was an eternity ago, Rob would never believe the tech and stuff we do today...
Shaun was too petite to be my type but I would've done her anyway. She was a hottie. I especially liked the videos where she made out with that brunette ("Tiffany," I think). Tame by current Messygirl standards, but they seemed into it.
Phil, if she still looks good, you should bring Shaun out of retirement to make a mud video with Mrs. Bee!
I don't tend to go for the petite figure either - but Shaun was a bit different: shapely and pretty - with a certain cheeky charm.
Thanks, Phil. A really sweet contribution. I was going to mention your name in the original post...but I decided it probably wasn't my business to do that. Your shout - and a great one.
I first came upon Shaun in some of Dave's MPV videos about 15-17 years ago. I was just starting to show interest in quicksand which lead to my love of WAM. When I saw Shaun in the videos, I instantly fell in love. She always seemed so at home in the clay pits and in front of the camera. My thoughts and hopes was that she was truly enjoying herself. She is truly missed be me as I am sure many others as well.
I often think back to her videos and and think (as I am about her same age) where has the time gone?
She will always be one of the first and true reasons for my love and interest in WAM & sinking.
I hope her journey has been exciting and full of great memories. And can only dream of a return someday!
SplatBoy said: The one detail I always remember about Shaun is her eyes. Her big, pleading blue eyes always shone through whatever mess she was covered in.
I was looking for the first image. That intense gaze. A genuine smile and the upside down pose. The combination is simply captivating the. This was the first WAM purchase I ever made. A VHS tape from Messy Fun.
Shaun was sort of the face of MF for a while, wasn't she?
She was (and I can only assume still is) quite lovely. If she does end up reading the thread, thank you and Rob for bringing us all your material in a time when it was hard to find others with the same fetish.
My first ever Wam purchase was a Messy Fun video, I think it was Seabrook mud wrestling competition. Finally the package arrived by post after travelling thousands of miles, and inside was of course the video and packing slip. And on the packing slip, below the technical details, there was a hand written smiley face and the name "shaun' beside it. I knew she also worked in the office with Rob, And I was very touched and very impressed with such a little thing personalising the whole transaction, that I still remember it 20 years later
I've known about Shaun since the late-1990s through not just Messyfun but also Mud Puddle Visuals, and ho boy, she really left a mark back in those days. She was amazing both clean and messy, and her distinctively petite body type and energy lent to a more fun approach to WAM. The paint scenes of course was one of my favorites Shaun scene, as are a good chunk of her mud, clay and quicksand videos.
Several years back, I got word from a MG model at the UMD forums that she eventually retired to private life and worked as a nurse. Hope she's still doing fine.
A bit late to come to this thread but I've been away and wanted to add a comment.
Like several others I discovered Messy Fun in its early days through Splosh magazine and Shaun was definitely my favourite from their videos in the 1990s. Seeing her long blond hair coated in mud or covered in various sauces and syrups was a big factor in converting me from a purely wet hair fan to a wet AND messy hair fan.
I have most of her videos from that time, including My Friend Shaun, Shaun Gives Kelly a Messy Lesson (which is a separate tape) and Splatgirl which have all been mentioned already. I also have The Interview and Just the Facts Miss in which she has scenes. Just The Facts has a great picnic scene with Ariel where first Shaun is pied then they repeatedly pour custard, batter and various sauces over each other before they decide to "clean up" with large bottles of syrup.
Her scenes were great for me not just because of her messy hair but also because she always seemed to be having fun and usually initiated the messy action. Add to that the fact that these scenes were really long with repeated gungings and layer upon layer of mess applied made them for me the best around at the time (for example the Just the Facts scene described above is 25 mins. and the Messy Lesson tape is 50 mins long and all one scene).
Along with others who contributed I do hope she's doing well now.
I have one photo to add which is a publicity still that I think is from Splatgirl with Tiffany after lots of syrup has gone down.
