Last year I went gunged/slimed myself with melted ice cream. A day or two later I wondered if I had somehow "burnt" my face as it was looking a bit red.
For those who regularly use melted ice cream, have you ever come across a similar experience as mine? I was using Lime-flavoured ice cream, and it was combined with chocolate mousse, whipped cream and custard. The "burn" in question was like sunburn.

Margarita dermatitis maybe? If there was lime juice in the ice cream and then you went in the sun that can happen. Or maybe burns from citrus oil (I have some from lemon oil)
Dairy products contain lactic acid, which is why whipped cream pies can sting your eyes. If you were exposed to the ice cream for an extended period of time, this might have caused some irritation.
(or it could have been actual sunburn if you spent time outside)
Edit: Further research showed turned up that lactic acid acts as an exfoliator, removing a layer of skin from your face. This can make you more sensitive to sunlight for up to a week after exposure.
As it turns out, some women apply lactic acid as an exfoliating agent and actually have this concern.
Edit 2: It could also potentially be minor frostbite depending on how long you left it on and how cold it was, although I think the lactic acid explanation is probably more likely.
I did this during the New Zealand winter. I was inside the bathroom when I did the session. The ice cream had been in a fridge overnight. I would usually pur some on me, then stop and use other substances, then come back to the ice cream. It was cold in the bathroom; no heating.

That is a real thing... aka 'phytophotodermatitis', but can, apparently, be quite severe. Be careful with the citrus!
