Just last night I did a video shoot with one of my favorite local models, Ludella Hahn. We were painted with gold mehron which I was really excited about since I never did a metallic body paint before.
Everything went fine during the shoot but as I was driving home I got this odd burning sensation on my nipples. I was so exhausted from shooting all day that I just ignored the pain and went to bed early. When I woke up I felt fine but then the hot water from my shower this morning made the burning come back. It's not that bad but they are still kinda sensative and sore like I was wearing nipple clamps for a long time. Has anyone had a reaction like this to mehron?
It was mixed in baby oil and then we washed it off with dawn soap. My only explanation is I may have had an allergic reaction for something in the paint or maybe it was the soap. I loved how the paint looked and I really want to do it again but am not sure if it's a good idea.
Hello Leila, The first paint shoot that I organised with Mehron, I planned to use baby oil. On arriving the model then told me she had an allergy to baby oil, so we had to switch to olive oil, she had no problem with that.
Up until then I never realised people could have a reaction to baby oil as you assume if it's safe for babies it must be OK on adults.
Maybe for the future do a spot test with both types of oil beforehand.
I've had a similar reaction to a liquid hand soap before after accidentally using it on my face. Hopefully it gets better quickly. If it does, maybe try each substance.. mehron, baby oil, soap on one nipple individually to see which is the culprit? If it doesn't.. well, obviously don't do that.:ohbruther:

Thanks for the info. I also assumed it couldn't have been the baby oil but I will have to test that out once this reaction has subsided.
I am actually surprised this is the first time I have had a negative reaction to a messy substance. I have such sensitive skin and so many allergies that I make my own skin care products since most commercial lotions make my skin itchy and cause redness. I used the dawn soap because that's what Ludella brought but next time I will have to bring my own soap.

Hello Leila, I think you may have the answer in the soap, I don't know the Dawn brand, not one I have seen here in the UK. But I find ordinary shower gels cause me to have a dry skin itch, so I always use "Simple Soap" moisturising gel, and usually provide bottles of that for the models to clean up with. Not had any complaints from them.
