I figured she'd be good, but was completely unprepared for her to "get it" as quick as she did.... By Scene Two, she was doing perfect reactions and getting completely covered! (Fun fact: She told me several times how "funny" everything was, and took to letting out little gasps or squeals after hits to keep from cracking up.....)

I'm sure she'd wear her own lingerie next time (she literally didn't bring anything this time, which those of you who read the blog already knew!). Probably standard stuff like thong bottoms or something similar.

Rich this looks great. Super cute girl, that orange slimed shot of her smiling is amazing. But man, that last from behind hair shot. That is so so so close to being perfect. If it just had as much or near slime in the hair as was on her face I would already be building several small churches in your honor. Such a tease. But definitely thanks for these shots, they are much appreciated. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy this one too.

You know, you're not a bad looking guy Rich, I'd surprised you're not in a relationship with one of your models. I'm sure before the girls show up, they're expecting some fat balding 45 year old guy breathing heavy throughout the shoot.

I can see you answering the door and they're like "well hellOOOO!"

HA! Well, not fat, or balding, or breathing heavy anyway.

Some guy on YT constantly complains, "I wish the guy who makes these would stop being a 'character' in his own videos." Well.... The alternative is what, exactly? The model talking to thin air, only interrupted by random hairy arm with pie or super-creepy whispering of lines that she then repeats? I dunno. I try to stay off camera most of the time, but I think the model having fun getting messy AND interacting with a real person is part of the appeal.

Also, I never hit on the models or try to date them. It's been that way forever. I hear stories about other photographers, so to each his own.... But it just seems like crossing some sort of ethical line to me. (Also 90% of these girls have BFs or husbands, so moot issue.)

Yeah, as someone who's in the industry, you're 100% correct. Models are a very tight group will will absolutely warn their friends and the community in general if a producer makes them feel uncomfortable.

And I've heard more than my fair share of stories about creepy producers.

Also, I think it adds to the videos when you're in it, not detracts. The "random hand" is played out.

Agreed, although I'm biased.

I think a good compromise is the "Soupy Sales" method.... There was always another voice "behind the door," but you didn't see anything beyond arms and the occasional pie flying. The whole "Crusty's Bakery" setup is definitely this.

But that also takes a lot of post-production to hide me. (Especially the Wonder Woman scene, where I had to add a "clay monster" over any part of me that was on camera.) AAAAND if you're buying the unedited clips, you won't get that anyway.

Robby and I have had this discussion for years. He backs it up with data.... where apparently the presence of a guy (OOOH!! GROSS!!!!) causes 95% of potential buyers to run for the hills. I think some of that data is flawed, but there's definitely a significant segment who doesn't want to see a guy ANYWHERE on camera. Believe me, if I knew a female who had my pie-smashing skills, she'd be in EVERY scene applying the mess and I'd be safely behind camera.

(And just as point of reference... Even big producers like MostWAM or MG who have long-term models who are EXCELLENT at applying the mess.... There's still lots of scenes where the main pie-throwing arm is hairy....)

Can we compromise and get Alyssa Milano to throw the pies? Cause I have to admit, Regis likes a nice hairy Italian broad.

As for Kristen Bell ... Veronica Mars needs to be a mud wrestler in the next reboot. Or the next one. Or the one after that. Or maybe her daughter is a fetish model in the one after that....
