I swear that I saw a show in the 60's where Mariette Hartley was in a pie fight. I think that the show was called "The Hero". She would have been in her mid twenties at that time. Does this ring a bell with anyone here?
I do seem to remember her being pied on an early morning network TV show. Around the time she did those Polaroid commercials with James Garner. But I may be wrong.
Yes, someone in Hurley's network had the morning show clip (I think with Tom Hartman), so it was on one of Hurley's clip tapes. I recall being disappointed in the scene as it had poor coverage and was some sort of shaving foam.
I have the 1980's pie scene. Hurley listed it as "The Mariette Hartley Show" (1988).. Mariette is pied by a rather short clown..too short because he misses the top half of her face and only pies her nose, mouth and neck (screen grabs from poor qualiy video attached).
The 1966 tv comedy series is a rare one that I know nothing about because there were only 16 episodes made and it has not been aired since 1967. Apparently tapes do exist of these shows because it aired on Italian tv a few years ago and 1 of the episodes is on Youtube, dubbed in Italian. This was a 30 minute comedy series with slapstick moments so I am sure the story about a pie fight is correct, though that episode is not online and no still photos can be found of the pie fight....only this collection of stills on these 4 pages starting from here.
