Sometimes the most beautiful memories aren't the ones we plan -- they're the ones that simply happen. That's exactly what this day in Malta felt like. The sun was shining, the sea was calm, and something inside me just said: go for it.
We filmed this at the legendary Blue Hole in Gozo, one of Malta's most magical natural spots -- surrounded by cliffs, sunlight, and crystal-clear water. We filmed this at the legendary Blue Hole in Gozo, one of Malta's most iconic natural wonders. It's a deep, circular sea pool carved by thousands of years of waves, surrounded by cliffs and connected to the open sea through an underwater arch. Divers from all over the world come here -- it's up to 15 meters deep, and the light that filters through the water makes it feel almost magical.
The spot is also famous because right next to it once stood the Azure Window, the giant limestone arch that collapsed in 2017 during a storm -- but its spirit still lives on in the beauty of this place. Standing here, you can still feel that same breathtaking energy -- the mix of power, peace, and endless sea.
I walked into the Blue Hole in my jeans and red top, and the moment felt timeless. I couldn't resist stepping in -- and for a while, I forgot everything else. The water was cool but gentle, the air warm and soft, and every ripple shimmered in the light.
There was laughter around, but also peace -- the kind that comes only when you're completely in the moment. I didn't plan it, I didn't think about perfection -- I just wanted to feel the water, the freedom, the joy of being alive.
That's what this video is about: simple, real happiness -- and the reminder that life's magic often hides in moments we never plan.
Come enjoy the sunshine and the waves with me -- filmed at Gozo's famous Blue Hole. Let the waves take you there too.
Hey, Violet, I just love this post. Malta is my most favourite place! And I'm lucky to be going there again in a few days, for four weeks. So glad you had a good time too. I do the cold water challenge, which in November means going into the hotel pool after four, just before it starts to get dark! I do very occasionally have someone join me! https://umd.net/forums/cold-water-challenge-2 Have lots and lots of fun. Then have some more. Peter
