Hi Everyone!

The Mrs and I are looking for some UK mud to wallow in and would like some suggestions.

It would be great if it was;

- Private.
- Near some clean expanse of water to wash off.
- In or around the East of England. (Doesn't have to be)
- 'Clean' mud - (not full of sewage etc).

I've had a good look with Google and little on this site to see if there is anything suggested, but no luck yet.

Hi, I'm not hot on the east coast but the Severn Estuary has some delightful tidal mud. Weston Super Mare is where the Mostwam mud is filmed. There are some good spots on the far end of the beach and surrounding areas. Chantelle is the person to ask about the East of england as she has some great pits/experienc etc. There must be some good spots. Hope you get to get out whilst the weather is nice!!

Hi, there's some great spots in Norfolk, there's tidal mud at Great Yarmouth and blakeney and there's a few sucluded spots on a river/ steam near Cromer which has mud up to your neck

Thanks muddyduck. Norfolk is close to us so will definately look into these spots. Google Maps here we come.

Please tell me more sxmud... where can the Mrs and I find this wonderous creamy yellow delight? - I've had a look on the google maps - is north of Chelmsford where you mean? Are they private - no security at weekends? The risk of getting caught is perhaps part of the fun, but how many fences would we need to climb over?

As long as it's warm enough it's bloody amazing as it sucks you in and can be so heavy

Thanks Aussie_mud - that mud map is an exellent example of collaborative technology in use. I'm suprised there isn't a map like this on umd - unless there is? I'll be sure to check it out - looks like there are some good uk spots

Found this during my Google searches - looks like an amazing mud spot although traveling to the Ukraine is a bit beyond my budget Not sure if it would welcome true mud wammers either, but looks like a lot of fun - anyone tried this spot?
