Now I am producing again any of you who have bought my video's know there is a lot of footage, sometimes I break it down into separate video's. I am re-thinking this.

A lot of what I shoot is really good footage, that's why I like to include it, I just hate leaving on the cutting room floor. But some have said my video's are to long so I am thinking in future every video will be a single sale (not separate) and I will include two versions, the full length video (30 mins +) and a shorter edit less than 15 mins, what do you think?

Noting that I only buy fully clothed scenes, and I know most of yours are nude:

I always want to see reasonable value for money when contemplating what to buy. I don't want a bunch of filler, but I do want a decent length of video for my money. Often I'll watch different parts at different times, usually the first time I watch something I'll only watch the part while the model(s) go from completely clean to starting to get messy. But on a later watch I might skip forward to a point where they're already partly messy, and watch them get even messier from that point. Sometimes it can be fun to watch someone, who's already got mess all over her own legs, totally ignoring that while she gets her own back on the other girl, for example.

If the footage is good, and something is definitely happening in it, it's probably best to leave it in, better too much than too little?

Long

I'm in favor of long scenes. I can always fast forward if I ever want to get to a certain point, but I love the idea that I'm getting the full footage, especially for a good value (which your scenes tend to be).

Long, or maybe cut to 2-3 parts

I prefer videos somewhere between 10 - 20 minutes, but that's just me, and it's what sells well for you that matters.

I think the idea of doing a single sale that has both long and short versions is a good idea potentially, but would there be enough extra sales to justify the time and effort of doing the shorter edit? How would you even know that the sales were any different to what they would have been, if it had just been a long version?

I don't think there's anyway to know, other than roll the dice. Sometimes in business that's all you can do. Go with your gut. And other such cliches.

In this case though, because you already have a ton of video archives, you could experiment with older material first. For example, if you have a 3 parter video that has sold well, made you a decent return, but now it hardly sells any more, you could chop that down to a 1 parter, upload it for sale and see what happens.

I prefer long videos, because it's fun to a sexy women getting messy from beginning to end for more than 10 minutes.

Phil, I'm very much looking forward to seeing your new videos as you always had a combination of high production quality with AMAZING models. I would definitely go for the "Long" option every time, after all a viewer can always fast-forward etc

I know the Christina Carter video will be amazing!

So I just tried uploading my new Christina Carter video and its too big! So I have not choice but to break it into 2 videos or lower the quality. Now I have re-edit and render again. I will experiment with bitrate, but I do not want quality to suffer.

I like the idea of two versions

One being the 'directors cut' the full length you would want to put out
and a cut down version which might focus more on action

I don't like the idea of just cutting a full length into shorter parts.

You could either
(a) sell both as a bundle - so for one price the person gets both versions and can watch the one they'd prefer
(b) sell both separately so people can buy the one they'd most like

what I have found sometimes - there's videos in assorted genres of fetish where the videos have been priced per minute and stuffed with filler or ads for other clips (i.e. 1 minute intro at the start, a 3 minute trailer at the end - and a 15 minute clip being $15.99 despite the clip being 11 minutes.
I'd rather them price it at $15.99 for 11 minutes then cram in the ads making you think you were getting more)

I do have some clips for elsewhere which are looooooonngggggg and kinda lack action so I'm putting them out in full, but charging $10.99 for 20 minute clips.

If it really is "good footage" as you suggest then the length of the video wouldn't concern me at all. If anything I'd prefer longer scenes because I'd feel I was getting my money's worth. And with all the stuff of yours I've purchased in the past (which is a LOT, I have 46 video files in my Dirty Muse folder!) I've always felt the quality is worth the money so I trust you when you claim it's good footage.

I think the idea of two seperate videos in the download is a good idea. You could have a shorter version with all the action and 'highlights' and then the longer one could be the full experience, maybe even include some more of the talent before the scene starts and some aftermath too, I'm always interested in seeing some behind the scenes stuff and seeing the models and their personalities in their more natural state. Rich has made good use of this before.

The only concern with longer videos is obviously the size of the file though, the UMD servers can be horrifically slow for me most of the time and it can take a good 20 minutes to download just a 1gb video often.

I prefer a longer video delivered as Part 1 and Part 2 as long as both parts are worth the price.
