Lara makes her debut in this gorgeous set. She is a breathtaking beauty to behold and shooting her in a wet and messy scene felt almost unreal. She enters the slimefilled bathtub in her business casual outfit. After getting thick slime dumped on her, Lara immerses herself totally into the pink goo and is absolutely loving it.
The movie is shot on my new camera, so expect video quality to be extra crisp!
Max. said: one of your best shootings Her hair is beautiful
Thanks Max, she's truly breathtaking. And it was a strike of luck that we managed to have that shooting in the first place. It took place two days before she left town forever and I only got to know her a day befor the shooting ... and it was the best and worst shooting ever at the same time
and it was the best and worst shooting ever at the same time
Why that ?
I used my new camera for shooting video the first time (a sony alpha 6400). I am usually ultra careful to have everything set up and running - as I am working and shooting alone. We had planned to shoot two sets. In the first session - this one - everything worked out fine. Her look, her outfit, just everything was about perfect.
For the second session I had prepared some of the sloppiest pies I ever made. And Lara was eager to get inundated with them
So again I was convinced I had checked and double checked everything before we started. And I had even decided to skip photos for that session and to focus mainly video. I had the screen of the camera turned towards us, so I could control framing and autofocus. I saw that the autofocus field was dialed on her eyes and I was convinced I had the Sony on record ... and so we started shooting.
I hit Lara with the first pie head on and only then routinely went back to the camera to triple check ... when it hit me light a lightning strike. I had everything dialed but I had pressed the wrong button to start recording. Turned out I was so used to working with my old Canon cameras that I routinely hit the button in the middle of the dial wheel on the back of the camera. While it starts recording on my Canon cameras that is not the case on the Sony. It has a separate button on the right side of the camera that is solely used for video. And since it was my first shoot with the cam I didn't have that internalized yet. So with the prospect of being about to nail that incredibly beautiful girl with several pies my mind was already elated with expectation and so I made that crucial mistake that ruined what should have been on of the highlights of that year.
Obviously I was shaken after I realized that the footage was basically unusable but Lara was such a great sport and so incredibly kind in trying to cheer me up again and at least finish that part of the shoot (btw. the second shot attached shows her in the moment I told her we didn't record the first pie hit). Needless to say she still ended up totally covered in cream, but the video probably will never see the light of day.
I had my fair share of technical frustrations in the past. I had cameras recording unsusable video due to software glitches. But it is the worst thing when you make a mistake yourself and basically render a whole day of preparation and cleanup useless within seconds.
But luckily that was not the end of the story with regards to Lara
