I think that wet hair is very sexy, but with all these things a lot of the appeal is in the tease. So keeping hair dry can be very teasing, leaving us full of anticipation. Getting hair wet first looks great too, with it dripping onto dry clothes. Peter
I remember reading some blog post by a wedding photographer doing a boat engagement shoot and talking about how the wife-to-be dropped something in the water and she (the photographer) had to get in and get it and her maxi dress got soaked.
As sure as I am that she probably was just ankle deep and she didn't have to go for a fully clothed swim to retrieve whatever they dropped, it would be interesting to see someone put their hair up, get in the pool and get the outfit fully soaked, and then get out and let the hair back down and be soaked from the collarbone down with fully dry hair.

She did put it back down at the end in this particular video I think. Will need to double check.

Any chance you remember which blog, would love to read it too.

I can look but it if my memory serves me right it was literally a one-off sentence like "Jane dropped X in the water and I had to hop in and my maxi dress got wet". Nothing more than that.
I did, however, find another engagement shoot while looking with the BTB in a blue maxi dress where they said F it due to the rain and just went for a swim fully clothed no shortage of soaking wet dress pics, but (i never thought I would say this) whatever material the dress was made of meant that it wasn't nearly as sexy when soaked as I was expecting, so not sure it's worth posting here.
Also my girlfriend and I have started talking about things related to that and I might have to start doing some scheming because i feel like a spring engagement perfectly sets up a wet dress summer engagement shoot.
The thing I am into the most is wet hair slicked back. The way it looks when they have just emerged from the water. That includes having the hair down. I also really like to see women with short hair get their hair wet, as long as it is long enough to be slicked back and smooth.
Gotta be wet. And I'd always like to see the moment it's getting wet. Or if it's in a pool/tub, the slicked back emerging look is the money shot. I'm always bummed after that too when the model goes to spread it out or shake it out or squeeze it out. Just leave it!
Oh, and wet hair in a pony tail or bun or tied up at all just defeats the purpose. Won't buy that either.
I completely agree with herhairsgottabewet. Each of the comments is spot on! I feel like the entire scene is a letdown if the model doesn't get her hair wet. And I also agree with the comment that having her hair tied up in a braid or pony tail to get wet in is useless. I love seeing the model with her hair down when she gets it soaked. However, I do enjoy seeing the model with her hair tied "up", only to submerge and then untie her hair underwater or when she surfaces.
I have a slightly different outlook. If a woman has, say, capsized a boat and managed to save herself from going under then i think the combination of nice dry (ish) hair and soaked clothes is very appealing. As for slicked back hair, I can take it or leave it. The wet hair I like is an unruly mess covering some of her face as she splutters to the surface. I much prefer that to the very posed look that is so popular. I once saw a woman, middle aged in a long gown walk down the steps into a pool. She held a glass and continued conversing with her friend up on dry land as she waded up and down. Naturally I hung around, er, for research purposes and after a while she just walked back out again, wet to her midriff in that long gown. I can't tell you how sexy I found that. So there.
Gotta be wet or it's a deal-breaker. There's nothing dead sexier than a woman with gorgeous, styled hair getting her hair soaked or messy. It's the whole reason many of us got into WAM!
