My cat doesn't stay in the background, he will walk right up to the the camera & start sniffing or licking it. I had to buy a baby gate to keep him from ruining my videos!

I think, quite frankly, it also makes many of the photos more sexy -- not because i enjoy animals + sex, but it just makes the whole thing seem more "organic", impromptu, natural, unplanned and, as per the heading, "amateur".

Great thread! Our cat loves to meow outside the closed door when we WAM. Here's a pic of him with Mrs. Bee, interfering with setup for a shoot one evening, refusing to move his butt off the bed. Mrs. Bee thought it was hilarious. (It wasn't.)
